Just don't worry about it?

As long as my screens don't get too scratched, I don't care. I have a pink DS (Because real men play with pink DS's) and the shoulder buttons are filthy from repeated use. There aren't really any scracthes, which is surprising, considering how much I thrash it. Just live and be free, it will be so much easier - and thanks to the lowering of stress you might live seven years longer. See, I'm helping.

I don't think that Nintendo are pushing consoles with lower power because of the price factor. I definately don't think that was the case as far as the Wii and the DS go.

When you look back on the last couple of Generation's of consoles, the major selling point has been power. This has the best graphics, that has the best additional features, etc. When you look back, Nintendo were always reluctant to follow trends. Wit the Nintendo 64, Nintendo chose against going the CD route, even though they were well away of their Sony competition's intentions thanks to the SNES CD debacle, and stuck with cartridges. And they did so even though they risked losing, and eventually lost one of their biggest third party developers in Square. the decision to stay with cardtridges on the 64 has been an arguing point for, well, over a decade now. People may say that Nintendo were trying to hold on to outdated hardware, or were relluctant to step into the next generation or what ever, but whatever it was, it was different. It was going against the current trend.

With the Gamecube, Nintendo had decided to go the CD route, as it now made absolutly no sense to hold on to their cartridge routes. So the Gamecube was to be a CD console. A mini-CD console. Something new, and something very practicle, as it helped with copyright problems at the same time. And when the PS2 and XBoX were all worrying about additional features with their DVD Playback and whatnot, the GCN didn't even worry about it. It wasa  /GAME/ machine. Not much more, and not much less. And, in the last generation of consoles, and especially in the current, that is something VERY different.

the innovations with the Wii ad the DS are pretty obvious, and don't need running through. And, while it can still be considered a matter of wealth, thanks to the string of Nintendo's successful consoles, and the fact that it has dominated the handheld market since the 1980's means that Nintendo's bankbook aint to small either. I mean, it's not like video games are Nintendo's only revenue, anyways. There is this little thing called Pokemon and stuff to take into consideration as well.
