Keyword being most, because I sure don't like "bad-boys". I would prefer a nice, but boring guy over a confident jerk-ass anytime.

The only one I haven't seen is 3. The 4th one is okay. It ticks all the boxes for a Pirates movie. Depp is great. But I think the problem with these movies is that there's just too much of everything. Too many threads, characters, explosions lol. Too long. The weirdest inclusion with 4 are these really awkward Christian messages. It just seemed completely unnecessary. But I guess thats the Disney influence right? biggest_loser
You need to watch the 3rd one! :OOO The Davy Jones and Calypso story made me sad... I'm not going to spoil it for you in case you plan on seeing it.
When you said Christian messages, I instantly thought of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. On Stranger Tides reminded me so much of the Last Crusade...
[QUOTE="Mega-Mustaine"][QUOTE="3eyedrazorback"]The 4th one was lacking. The 2nd and 3rd was pretty good.SolidSnake35
I like the 4th one, but not as much as the previous movies. It felt drastically different from the others, and it had no ship battles.
They got rid of Orlando Bloom. Praise the Lord.I was so happy that they ended the Elizabeth and Will story.
But then they brought in the mermaid and the clergyman...

It's obvious that a lot of you guys don't like the Pirates sequels. I've also noticed some people I know don't like them either. They've never given me a straight answer as to why they think so, though.
So, I'm just going to ask here. What's so bad about the Pirates sequels? The characters are awesome, the action is superb, the plot isn't all that bad, the settings are neat, and the cast is great, if not perfect.
Sorry if I seem fangirl-ish over these movies; I grew up with the Pirates movies (I still am, really) and have loved them all equally, so I can get just a wee protective when someone comments,"Sucks, bro", and not give a reason.
So, OT, for those who don't like the sequels (or any of the movies in general), why don't you like them?
[QUOTE="arbitor365"]I'd say I look okay. I've been told I have this academic, scholarly, professorlike look to me. I used to be slightly overweight, but I lost quite a lot of that.well, what do you look like? that may seem like a shallow question but it is important

How about some pics so we know what you're getting at... please?
All the time. I usually listen to Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks and, most recently, X-Men: First Class's soundtrack.
Based on the scores you gave to individual components of the film, I don't see how you came to the overall score of 6.5. I haven't seen the film and don't plan on ever doing so.PernicioEnigma
The individual components and overall score weren't really tied together, sorry for that mix-up.
And you know what? It's not as bad some people say. It's not awesome or great, but it was entertaining. It was okay.
Here's how I rate it...
Lack of involvement from the other Lanterns: -1
Main character: 0
Plot: +1
Long, unnecessary monologue from the antagonist (Parallax) that left him vulnerable: -1
Second antagonist (Hector Hammond): +2
Stale love story: -3
That's as far as I'm going to go. On a scale of one to ten I'd give it a 6.5.
There were a ton of cheesy moments, but hey, the old Star Wars movies had the cheesy moments too and they've been worshipped like gods. The love story is lame, they should have left it out or made it more interesting. Hector Hammond made the movie so much cooler than I would have anticipated; easily the best character in the movie.
TL;DR: The movie isn't complete garbage like most make it out to be, and Hector was cool. It's a good summer movie; you people are just awfully picky. :P
For those who've seen it, what do you think of it? And, since I know what most of you will answer, why do you think it was a turrible movie? Please be constructive about it; if not... well...
