Well actually i have the electric blue old DS, and i like it much better then my sisters DS lite, because i think its comfortable, the buttons are more like, well buttons, not buttons on a phone. and i dont have to hold it very weird, because it feels like it could brake any moment hehe... so i like the old one better, the thing i like about the lite is... the light :P
Yea, Resident Evil Deadly Silence, i beleive its called looks good, ive never played it but it got good ratings for a port, im not sure if its a remake but anyways you have best luck with that game. And if you consider this to be a zombie game, Castlevania Dawn Of Sorrow is a great game, i never liked the series so much but i really enjoyed this one. hope that helps :)
for one thing i love turn based battes, they just work, if they werent turned based they wouldnt give me that feel of playing a good old-school rpg, second of all im glad they are going to get rid of online play so they can focus on the story and make it 20 hours longer then they would have if they made it online play.... ooo boy cant fricken wait for this game, BTW im a huge huge fan of old-school rpgs, thats why i said these things. :)
