The other day while visiting my local Gamestop store, I saw the box for Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011. While standing in line for a bit, and staring at this game for some time, I came to a conclusion.

The box art for this game makes me think that wild and furious animals are attacking poor defenseless people, who in turn are fighting to survive by hiding in trees and blowing their brains out. I know, from what I've been taught as a kid, you should never judge a book by it's cover. This game however, seems to want to be judged incorrectly, just based on it's cover. If you were to replace the bear on the cover with a zombie or some other kind of monstrosity, I think it could easily be the box art for a Resident Evil game.

This game is all about hunting, which we all know, no big secret. Now, I could give you all my personal reasons as to why I disagree with hunting, but this is not the place nor would anyone really care. With that said, I'm not saying what I am because of my own beliefs; this is just an observation that I found funny. I'm also not commenting on the game itself, only the cover art, so please don't take this as a negative review for the game.

I know this is not the only game to mislead and/or send an inaccurate interpretation as to what the game is about. I grew up in the eighties during Nintendo's heyday and I can honestly tell you I've been mislead and burned a lot based on cover art. I know, like I stated above, you should never buy a game based on the cover art alone, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has.

One of the biggest culprits for me was a NES game called Deadly Towers. I fell for this one big time, I saved up my allowances to buy this game, only because I thought the cover looked really cool. After getting home and playing it for about fifteen minutes I realized I was had. I must also admit that it goes both ways, because I had the same experience when the Legend of Zelda first came out and I was completely blown away. Thank God the world wide web came along and now you can actually research games before breaking the bank.

So I was just wondering, what games have stole your hard earned money based on box art alone, considering that the art probably cost more to produce than the game itself?

The past week or so, in preparation for Dead Space 2 I have been in a horror/thriller gaming mood. I have been playing a few of my favorites, which include Bioshock, Dead Space and Resident Evil amongst a few others. I started wondering; if the plotline for any of these titles was a reality which scenario would I be able to survive in the best and why. Thinking about it for a bit, I've come to the conclusion that I would probably choose Resident Evil. Mainly because the thought of being in deep space or the ocean floor makes whatever's happening around me seem just that much scarier. I don't claim to be a tough guy at all and most likely no matter what game's story I was in I would probably crap myself, and crap myself a lot. Honestly, Resident Evil doesn't really scare me as much as the other two titles; I think that's because of where it takes place. That and the male characters in the Resident Evil series always have a hot chic with them to help with the murdering of zombies. Besides, it's not as if you can just swim out of Rature or walk out of the Ishimura but you can always hop on a plane and get the crap out of wherever those freaking zombies are. Also the Dead Space Necromorphs and Bioshock's Splicers and Big Daddies are scarier than zombies, in my opinion. So I was just wondering what game would you choose out of these three and why? Michael

I was at Gamestop the other day to pre-order Killzone 3. While talking to the clerk he asked me if I wanted the special edition and surprisingly I said yes. I say surprisingly because normally I don't purchase the special edition, just because I feel they are over priced and never really have anything worthwhile, that is unless you're a huge fan of that particular game. I decided to cancel my pre-order for the special edition and to just go with the standard version after some thought. After thinking about it, I started wondering how many people actually buy special editions and has there been one that just blew you away and made you feel like you got your monies worth? Any good recommendations? Michael

Thank you everyone for the compliments and of course the good advice. I do enjoy playing the Call of Duty titles, so I guess I'm going to have to be quick on the draw with the mute button as many people have suggested. That is if I am to keep my sanity and enjoy getting my butt kicked in peace. Honestly the nitwits that come through my speakers, which I visualize as someone similar to the Comicbook Guy from the Simpsons wearing arm floaties and a bike helmet, is only half the problem with the Call of Duty games. Playing these games online is like a guilty pleasure, you know it's going to aggravate you to no end but for some crazy reason we keep playing. I would compare it to eating Taco Bell or something similar, it's an enjoyable experience going in, but a pain in the butt (literally) coming out! I'm also happy that I could help a couple of people have a good laugh, laughter is great and unfortunately overlooked a lot in today's world.

A few months back I purchased an Xbox 360, mainly for their exclusives titles, Xbox arcade and of course to play online. I love the PS3 but the online community severely lacks compared to Xbox, at least in my opinion it does. Being new to the whole online thing I went all in and really did enjoy myself and I now realize what I've been missing all this time. Not that I've never tried to play online with the PS3, but as I've said before, it was more of a challenge for me so for the most part I just avoided it. Now, my problem is with the people you play with, they're all NUTS! Well not all of them but most for sure. I couldn't believe how many twelve year olds could kick butt on Call of Duty, when I was that age I was still struggling with trying to draw a circle on my Etch-A-Sketch or trying not to touch the sides while pulling the funny bone out of my patient on Operation! Besides all the kids and I must add they seem to be on every time I am, day or night regardless of the time, I sometimes feel like a grade school teacher. There are the people who believe they have to be retarded and/or annoying as soon as the match starts. I'm sure this has been addressed before but I was just wondering if there were any steps that could be taken to make my online life a little easier and less obnoxious? I don't know if it's their way of being the center of attention, or when it comes to the online community for the Xbox 360, is it just one giant sized short bus!? Also, does anyone know if it's possible to set up preferences for games to even the skill level while match making, like Call of Duty? I don't play that often, so I'm never going to be a one man killing machine like so many of my opponents. I was just wondering because it's not too much fun to play against Rambo when I'm Ramblow! Anyone interested in playing or has any good recommendations for online games please let me know. My gamertag for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 is MikeJMele. Michael

First things first, before the fanboy association for one system or another jumps on me for what I have to say, let me explain. By no means am I saying the Move, Kinect or the Wii isn't fun or even that one or the other isn't as or even more enjoyable then what's already being offered on the market. I'm just wondering if motion control gaming is just a passing fad or is it the future of gaming? I own all three platforms and honestly spend all my time on the Xbox 360 or the PS3, with the Wii only being dusted off for get togethers with a party themed atmosphere. I personally consider the Wii as peripheral to the Gamecube, I know that sounds odd but besides a few improvements it's not too far from being the Gamecube 2. With that said we can all agree that the Move and the Kinect are peripherals for their own systems too. I'm not implying that the Wii isn't fun or that is doesn't have it's share of quality software, but when it comes to next gen consoles I personally would only include the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in the category. I feel as if the novelty of motion controlled gaming has worn off, at least for the hardcore "gamer" if you will. I know that Xbox 360 fans will argue that the Kinect is different and unique in it's own way. I am however not talking about how they accomplish it but more so the end result, which is gaming by motion. Also, motion controlled gaming loses some of it's appeal when played alone, up to this point I can honestly say that there hasn't been a Wii or Kinect game that has taken me away and immersed me mentally into it as so many PS3/Xbox 360 titles have. I'm not saying I haven't enjoyed many Wii and Kinect games, but besides talking about how funny people looked playing the game and laughing about it, I really don't take anything else from the experience. In a nutshell, they're good times, but not lasting memories. I haven't played the Move, but I can say from personal exposure that the Wii and the Kinect both offer enjoyable gaming experiences; however in my opinion one motion control gaming system is enough. I am by no means trying to say which one is better, that's for you to decide. I just don't see why I would buy another motion controlled system when the end result will most likely be the same as my Wii. Truthfully if the Kinect wasn't given to me as a gift I don't believe I would have purchased one. My question is, will the motion control gaming craze disappear with the launch of the next versions of each platform, will it just pass with time or is it here to stay? If you feel it's here to stay please tell me why, maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for reading, Michael
