So, a faked example of a PS3 playing a 360 game that is condemned widely around here is now news?

Seeing as how Gundam games have a LONG history of being atrocious, including the PS3's initial abortion of a title, I could care less if another Gundam title ever gets launched.

[QUOTE="MikeinSC2"] You mean like YOU are doing here?=Mikegizmo_logix
Oh my...If you read what you are saying and the compare them to what I was saying you'll notice that I am not taking the narrow meaning -- or maybe you don't want to notice this. It's an expression by taking the word loyalty, commonly used for nationalism, religions or faiths. It can be used for other things as well, you know? Is is not similar, that in the light of the problems of the PS3 launch that some people will still be loyal to the PS3 or Sony? That's what I (and YOU) just got finished saying above: Minus optimal conditions (media criticism and which was the catalyst/gist the TC post). You might say that you only cared about the "lack of games." But that still lends itself the my original point about the other problems with the PS3 launch. So, whether is was you, other detractors, or the media. My point still stands. Yes, there are people, like the TC, that may use products even though they are bad. But it's rooted in belief that the PS3 will improve. Question? You are an evangelical? The moment you said, "Family. Faith. Country" I'd figure as such. Bush supporter? Hate flag burners? Believe in absolute truths? Rush Limbaugh listener? Just wondering... I have no problem with priorities (Faith before Family. Family before Country. Country before corporation). But I do have a problem with absolutism; narrow use of words on a fun gaming site. What? Do you think that the TC will join the Sony "army" and die for his cause? Please...take it with a grain-of-salt. Listen, I think it is YOU that needs to learn the meaning of "loyalty." It's NOT limited to just one meaning of "faith or religion." Nationalism can be a factor. A company also (consumer or worker). Even to a person. Again, loyalties can be rooted in a strong feeling of support or allegiance for a religions, persons, company or cause. If this was a religious website then, in context, we'd be using the term loyal differently. Viewing the word through narrow ideals is the nature of fundamentalism. If the TC wants to remain loyal even in the midsts of media criticism. So what? That's the point! You might think his priorities are misplaced. But the term still applies. And you do not quote each phrase so I can understand it (BECAUSE I DO UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM). You do it so that you can understand it yourself (or what parts you want to understand). The only thing is shows me is what parts that you are misinterpreting. Do think that you are the only fundamentalist I've debated with? Do you think that I don't know about that world? I came from that background. Your argument is about priorities. If you want to argue that loyalty is misplaced if we were taking about say, family vs corporation. Fine. But to say that loyalty doesn't exist in persons, places or things (Sony). It silly. It does exist.

I find it cute that you have this insepid belief that you understand me. I'm a fundamentalist, apparently, which is BEYOND fascinating to me.

Since I do not wish to get the mods pissy by responding to your pathetically weak attempt at rationalization via character assassination, I won't respond to this gibberish.

You don't know what you're talking about and that is not going to change. I am not in the business of enlightening people, so feel free to live in perpetual ignorance.

[QUOTE="MikeinSC2"]I find people who blindly support sports teams to be silly, too. Ditto TV shows. Ditto movies.

But, since they weren't being discussed here, I saw no point in mentioning them.

Grumble...grumble... By the way, this post sums up pretty much the gist of all your other posts. I think you should join a Colts website and tell them how silly they are.

It took two edits to get to this?

Anytime one of my friends say "We" won a game when referring to a sports team, I will comment on the absolute key nature of their contribution to the effort.

Try being loyal to something that matters. Not a company that you don't own.

[QUOTE="Char1es"]so you are loyal to sony because you hear so many bad things about them?

hmmm, makes sense to me
gizmo_logix
No, were loyal in spite of the bad thing we hear about them because we believe that they will put it out in the end.

Read the INITIAL post.

He has the gist of the post down cold. That is the EXACT reason given.

Question. Why did you say, "The corporation doesn't care. That is not its job" when I just got finished saying, "And yes, we know that corporation "caring (profits/sales)" is NOT like a mother caring for her child?" Did you miss that part where I stated "profit" as the main motivating factor?

Using the word "caring" AT ALL was the mistake. I am quoting this line-by-line so you can understand it this time.

And if we thought that Sony products were "crap" there would hardly be any loyalty left.

Apparently you are not familiar with the concept of "loyalty". "loyalty" means fidelity even when something is MUCH less than optimal. I am loyal to my faith, even after the Christian church had that clergy molestation scandal.

That's the basis for the use of this word loyally. There's a reason for this loyally. It's not blind. A couple months ago shortsighted individuals like yourself would have just jumped ship thinking that Sony would never fix the PS3 issues. And then you would question our "loyally" in the midsts of such troubles (scaling, jaggies, lack of features, etc..).

The reality is I didn't, nor do to this day, care about scaling or jaggies. The lack of games is the issue.

Some of us know better. Preferring a product or company when things are going good is easy. Loyally is necessary when things are going bad.

And that is pure insanity. "Loyalty" to a corporation is blatantly silly.

Do you understand the difference? Getting slighly off topic...I need to say a few things... The reason that you reply to almost each and ever sentence that people post is because you take things way too literally without understanding the meaning.

You blame the reader when the problem is in the person issuing the message? Seems misplaced.

Let me give you and example of what you do. Someone would say, "I love Sony!" And you would come back with "How you can love a company! They don't care about you! They only care about money!" So, do you understand what you do? You take the word "love" and limit it to only *ONE* definition and completely miss the meaning behind the expression. It's an expression!

A moronic one, to be sure. Few things in life deserve "loyalty". Family. Faith. Country.

A company? No. No loyalty for that.

Every so often I'll find a person that quotes every line or every sentence or every phrase. That's an indicator that the person doing the quoting doesn't understand the meaning behind the original post.

Actually, it's to make sure what is being said is CLEARLY understood.

Stop taking things so literally. Or else you be debating words like "love" "hate" "care" instead of the meaning behind the post.

You mean like YOU are doing here?

Just checking.

But preference to a companies' products over another is not silly.

No argument. But loyalty implies "I'll support them EVEN IF the product is crap". That's why it's called loyalty and not preference.

It's the basis of consumer choice. And most of us choose Sony. It's true that the term "Loyalty" is being used loosely here. The point is that even though there are some problems with the PS3. We trust that they will improve it. It all come down the preference based on experience. And yes, we know that corporation "caring (profits/sales)" is NOT like a mother caring for her child.

The corporation doesn't care. That is not its job. I work for a huge cellular company --- odds are, at least half of you with cell phones have our service --- and no, we don't care about individual people because millions are there to replace you.

It's not a happy thought --- but it is corporate reality.

I do NOT like Microsoft's PC software. I do think they've made good consoles thus far. Thus, I PREFER their consoles, but I also own a PS3, so I'm hardly loyal to them.
