I never said he didn't, and the topic was not really about his "ear for music" quality, but rather, artists that sound ahead of their time, which in my opinion The Smiths, do not. If anything, they don't sound far too different from most other music from the decade. That being said, it doesn't seem like you particularly disagree with my suggestion that they don't sound particularly modern anyways. "Good taste in music" is nearly as subjective as one's favorite color. Alright, yeah I totally agree. I have been having a bad day today sorry about that.
I can answer this simply. The Smiths. After I listened to some of their songs, I looked them up on Wikipedia and thought to myself "Wow. They were an 80's band? They sound so modern."

No. I really don't understand how people can think he is. You really have to not be paying attention to his policies and presidency to think he's a socialist.
