The state of PC gaming? Well, EA confirmed that the next installment of the "Syndicate" series will be a FPS... need I say more?

@Masculus; I belive CoP runs even better than what Clear Sky did? My copy came yesterday, but my PC is belly-up at the moment, waiting for a new motehrboard. Friend of myne has been playing it though, he loves it and says it runs and looks better than Clear Sky does on his PC.

@Fuzeone; You know my pain! South Africa is exactly where I find myself... And yes, if I cut back on expenses I might be able to afford basic Internet here... but then I won't have money to buy games... @invictuslemming; Agreed, if I had Internet at home... I think I might have liked it:)

My biggest concern with DRM is my complete lack of a Internet connection at home. I did not buy several "steam-powered" game due to this. Like Dawn of War II, I own all the DoW's before the new one but I didn't order DoW2 when I found out about Steam. Same for F.E.A.R. 2 (also own all previous titles). I did order Empire Total War (as I am a big fan), but with the Steam limitations and the over-all state of the game it put me of the entire idea even more... so much so that I didn't buy The Last Remnant either. I have been waiting for Squere Enix to release one of their games on PC for a long time. Now, I can agree that Steam, in theory, is a wonderfull thing... but not if you have no Internet (or a Dial-up). Many gamers don't have Internet or still uses dial-ups (I was shocked to see some Americans on the Total War forum that still use dial-ups!)... or simply doesn't want their gaming PC on the Internet and rather has a seperate PC or laptop for Internet use. In all honestly, the less-legit route does seem more and more appealing... The "grey imports" are easily availeble in my country and they work perfectly with NO DRM in sight! I'm still figting that urge though... for now:)

@WelBluVid, Still greatly depends on the Dev though... Fallout 3 looks better on the 360 than the PS3 here, but there's no reason why it should as the PS3 is more powerfull. I'm PC gamer and there's still good reason to go PC, Fallout 3 looks a LOT better than the console version once you start playing with Mods and Tweaks... this is why the PC still rules. @joevit, not entirely true either, Blue-Ray's larger storage capicity allows for higher resolutions and qulity textures to be used for all rendered objects in a game. Think back to when GTA4 was still in development, one of the reasons why the PS3 version looked so much better than the 360 version is due to the fact that Rockstar could not fit the high-res textures for all the gameworlds objects on to the 360's disc... that's why Microsoft has been considering releasing the 360 with Blu-Ray as well...

My 5 Favorites would be (all for PC)... 1> Jagged Aliance (all of Them so far) 2> The Summoning (old RPG, not "Summoner") 3> Command & Conquer (would include the "Dune" games) 4> X-COM (first three, 1st one was the best:)) 5> Total Annihilation (can't wait for Supreme Commander) There are others (Ancient Art of War, Airborne Rangers, Doom/Quake/Castle Wolfenstein, Might & Magic series, Birthright, etc...), but these 5 stand out for me...
