Shoot em up has got to be one of the dumbest yet most awesome and most over the top I have ever seen, from death by carrot to a shoot out during a sex scene I say this has got to be on anyones list of most over the top action movies. Film-Guy
I really doubt anything can top shoot em up. Also, Clive Owen is freaking awesome.

The Sopranos. I love that show, definitely one of my most favorite shows, but after all those episodes, the finale just felt like a kick in the face.

[QUOTE="Cedmln"][QUOTE="BrainScramble05"] As far as I know, only if they're diseased. Why kill the unfortunate?BrainScramble05
Because they are a high risk to humanity. We have to get rid of the bad . Some things simply aren't curable right now.

The death penalty just doesn't seem very effiecient either. They can't be a risk for humanity if they're locked up. I'd feel better if they'd be given a chance.

Some people just don't deserve to live, like this one guy (don't know his story quite well) called the iceman. Hitman for the mob, if i recall, killed around 200 people and once he shot a random person in the head with crossbow to see if it would work. Rehabilitation and "another chance" is going to work for people like this? I

[QUOTE="MisterBombastic"][QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]Thank Hamas and the nations which strive for the destruction of Israel for that.Stevo_the_gamer
So Israel can still get away for killing lots of Innocents because of this?

Were they targeting these civilians discriminately -- were they using indiscriminately force? Then, no -- they couldn't, there would be war crimes to pay for such actions.

But do they have to be so reckless? Hamas are **** yes, they hide their crap in certain populated areas and the civilians are the ones that take the fall. Dozens of civilians are killed in Israels collateral damage but c'mon. I mean you can't say there's nothing wrong with Israel and just say its all Hamas' fault. They're both to blame, Hamas for their cowardly antics and Israel for their recklessness.

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="MisterBombastic"] I really feel bad for the innocent Palestinians. There are lots more dead innocent Palestinians than Israelis and no one gives a damn.

[QUOTE="falconclan"][QUOTE="NoSpeakyEnglish"] OK I'm just wondering out loud here but what exactly makes Hamas terrorists?NoSpeakyEnglish
Probably the fact that they launch rockets into Israel and run away and then cry about their people when the Israeli's retaliate. If there were rockets coming into your country daily would you just be okay with it and sit around?

No I would take action too but I wouldn't go as far as Israel did. 1500+ women and children dead and who knows how many more wounded. Wouldn't that make Israel more of a terrorist group than Hamas?

[QUOTE="Sajedene"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"] I appreciate the help, if I have any production companies in mind I will pm you. I dont know if you would know this, but do you know of any production companies who would go for a darker comedy film? I dont know of many production companies so my knowledge here is limited, plus dark comedy is the kind of film I want to make.

Just follow what you said earlier, think of movies that you love now that embodies what you would like to do. Look them up and see what production company is involved with them. Or find a smaller production company that works with big production companies and studios (they are the ones who are partnered or credited as "in association with") and get them to bite. MisterBombastic: I work at a talent agency in the Theatrical Department

Ah OK, i hope you didn't mind me asking i was just really curious.

[QUOTE="Film-Guy"][QUOTE="Sajedene"] Well to register your work with the WGA is relatively cheap. Do that and get your stuff copyrighted as well. Saves you any legal drama for later. Being a WGA member though is quite expensive. References are pretty much just big name people saying "You need to see this guy/read this." It stops us from tossing you in the trash right away (sad but true). In regards to the big agencies... there are the big 5 (CAA, WMA, UTA, ICM, Endeavor)-- they handle packaging and that is way you will notice the same people in the industry work together all the time. But there are at least 15 big agencies overall -- including the big 5. They are the ones that are at least bi-coastal (LA, NY, and maybe CHI) and will have the important departments (Film/TV, Lit, Commercials, Alternative Programming, etc) These top agencies are harder to get into and usually grab their pool of talent from the smaller agencies -- offering them bigger, better things (yes, we are wolves like that). It is VERY VERY rare (and usually only happens in commercial/hosting departments) that we take a look at someone with no experience. It is usually only because they were given a chance by someone else (IE: Freida Pinto)Sajedene

I see, well that lowers my chances quite a bit. I'm glad I know this before assuming that my work will even get glanced at. The agencies I was thinking of are the Endeavor agency, and the Gary Goddard agency. I don't know how big they are, but either was it doesnt look like my chances are good. Are there ways to get work looked at or an agency more interested in a script? If possible should I look at their past projects to get an idea of what they seem to be interested in looking at or does it not really matter?

Here's my tip... skip the agencies and shop your script (after it has been registered and copyrighted) to production companies. When a production company buys the rights or options your script -- the agents will come to you (we are head hunters after all). Look at the style of your script and then look at different production companies and see what type of movies they produce then send a copy of your script there.

And your recommendations are good. Bigger names are always better but named recommendations are better than no recommendation. We literally get hundreds of submissions everyday and anything to get you to stand out is good. Since you are doing a script, a good cover letter is a must. If you can't be witty or funny -- skip it (we'll just laugh and keep it in our funny files -- yes we do have that). Make it one page (its a cover letter after all) and just do a quick intro and sum up the story.

Best of luck!

ETA: most actors who work for little to no pay do it for a project they feel truly passionate about or for their friends who are involved in a project. There is no way of knowing who will do it. Heck, at work, we have clients who suddenly say "hey I wont be available for this because I want to work for so and so's project" which in turn has us scrambling to get contracts and deals in place.

A bit off topic sorry, but what exactly do you work as? You know a lot about this certain topic, which i am also interested in.
