dunno in what order id place them but the best ones ive ever played are
Lineage2,WoW and GuildWars(it isnt really a mmo but i guess it counts), CityOfHeroes/CityOfVillains

[QUOTE="Mizarus"]why are you so defensive about this game? it seems like you are on the freaking development staff, this topic is about Warhammer online videos giving an impression of being way too similar to the experience WoW already provides, it has nothing to do with previous games.
if anyone is a fanboy here its cleary you

Yes, im a warhammer fanboy. MMMMMmmmm! I love warhammer so much
Disagreeing with WoW lovers (look, I can throw lables too!) makes me a Warhammer fanboy. Nice!
so if somone thinks a game is similar to another it automaticly makes them a fanboy to that game? i fail to follow your logic.
only a few ammount of people get to play on betas
very few mmo's have a trial period, and most people dont even play those trials anyway since 7-14days is not enough time for somone get to get the right feeling of a mmo
even less people play a fee to see if the game is worth it
now all those ex-wow,everquest,lineage2,etc players are going to see those videos and are going to think, that the game is a clone, because thats what the videos feel like. people will rather play wow which has already an estabilished name on the mmo franchise and its getting another expansion then a risk playng a new IP, my guess is this game will be only played by warhammer fans, and its comunity will only grow if it manages to separat itself from the other mmo's which so far, its doing a terrible job at it.

I don't care if its your opinion, this isn't pre-school and no one is going to be afraid to tell you that you are wrong. What promises have they made on RvR, that it will be big, that there will be sieges? You mentioned that the reason they didn't show any of that was because they didn't want to make those promises, the trouble is they already promised all that and marketed it. Then you backtrack and state that it was probably because it was not ready, agreeing with me, so which is it? Are they afraid of breaking promises they already made or that they don't want to show something that is not ready? Anyways its not like Mythic has a high standard for released content, as evidence by the new poor videos that they have released, that as you mentioned run on the lowest settings. Furthermore all the videos I have seen on RvR in WAR (even on youtube) look nothing like the massive DaoC battles, but as several posters mentioned the small scale warfare of other MMO's. Is it even implemented, or are you defending a game for features that you have not tried and that the developer has not even implemented into the beta?
TeamR
What is wrong with you?? what is wrong with you??
The problem here is that you, and other like you, talk as if the game is released and on shelves. You talk about Mystic's promises as if it's too late for them to deliver.
Thats the real problem and why this argument is totally pointless. You don't seem to understand that the g ame is not going to be released for a very long time, and you judge it based on whatever beta footage you can get your hands on instead of waiting for a more complete product. How can I backtrack and say it isnt ready when....read carefully here: IT ISNT READY. It's not ready! It's a fact that the game isnt ready, so why are you arguing with me about it?! Why would I backtrack to the point i've been saying from the beginning? An indisputable point that no-one can argue
I am not arguing with you about just graphics, but the idiotic bleating of Warhammer fanboys that act like everything Blizzard did ripped off the precious franchise. Guess what? Dungeons and Dragons predates Warhammer by several years and you can make just as a convincing case that Warhammer copied them (ie, Dark Elves)
Anyways I don't know whats the point, I am actually looking forward to WAR since I enjoyed watching DaoC and I like the idea of a PvP focus, but when people hold up Games Workshop as some sort of beacon of originality and state that Blizzard ripped them off (especially when its StarCraftvs.40K) I can't help but get a little involved.

Your missing another point here. Namely, the topic of this entire thread. This isnt a thread about Warcraft copying Warhammer, it's a thread about Warhammer copying Warcraft. Maybe you should look back at the original post.
Like I said earlier, it's like saying Burger King rips off Mcdonalds when they all serve variations of the same ancient recipe.
This whole thread is pointless, I agree, but it was a Warcraft fanboy that starting slinging accusations. Not the other way around

is late 2005 soon enough?? like i said most people being acused of being noobs are being acused by noobs especialy on DOTA
most people called noobs are usually using a hero with some sort of true sight, scout or map revealing ability, or just people who like using sentry wards to gank people. i see it happening all the time when iam on both teams (on the ``hacker`` team or the ``super pro anti maphacker`` team) most of the time (99.9%) the guy is just a noob making false acusations who is too lazy to check out what happend on the replay
also keep on mind that they dont report Every single ban they make, those articles only come up to surface when they ban a big ammount of people. its also a sign that less people then you think are accuatly hacking
about your friend, battle.net has a 3 strike program against hacking, once you get 2 week suspended from laddaer games, twice you get your account suspend for a x amount of time depending on the hack, on the third time they ban you forever. the ammount of chances they give you also change depending on the hack you used
[QUOTE="Mizarus"][QUOTE="Haee"][QUOTE="Nikalai_88"]I don't play SC or WC3 but I do know that those cheats that you can easily download online are the kind that will prevent you from playing the game, espcially since making your hack open is the easiest way for PB to detect it. The only effective cheats are the ones used by private groups that do not post their programs online, so no you can't "see" them and the risk as I mentioned for using them is considerably higher. So you didn't explain jack ****Haee
In a RTS game completely eliminating the fog of war aspect DESTROYS competitive online gaming and the community itself is completely aware of in which Blizzard does nothing to circumvent the issue. You have no idea how rampant cheats are in that community.
Crysis...oh god just play this game once and you'll realize that "its hackers gone wild". Everygame even secured by Punkbuster is hackers galore and if you even played the game's multiplayer once youll realize just how poor the security in that game is. PB detects them? Maybe, PB does something to fix the problem? No.
You see it all depends on the game and personally if you deny that in several games for the PC (EVEN PROTECTED BY PUNKBUSTER) is not as prevalent as you believe than your completely blind.
blizzard does nothign about it?? they banned almost a quarter of million players from b.net last year due to hacks, not to mention constant patchs to keep up with those matters, out of 100 matchs you play you MIGHT find 1 hacker among them, i play on bnet every single day and i can count on 1 hand the people who might have been map hacking. most complainers are noobs who dosent know how to play and cant belive somone might accuatly be better then them without hacking, i myself have been called a hacker a few times and i suck at the game
http://pc.ign.com/articles/452/452445p1.html blizzard "purges" hackers every year on a regulr basis, next time get you info straight
Congrats you picked up a 5 year old article where it does not apply to the current situation at all, I think I should feed you a cookie because at best Blizzard is only looking at World of Warcraft now.
Why dont YOU get your facts straight if your accustomed to Battlenet so much? Why dont you check out a Warcraft 3 custom game and see someone suspiciously sneaking up on you in a game of DOTA? I said Blizzard looks at matchmaking although at worst, your just bound to get banned from matchmaking and thats it. A friend of mine has been caught maphacking but has only gotten banned from matchmaking while freely able to play customgames where the majority of the community resides anyway. Starcraft's community is even worse at the moment. So guess what? Hacking is prevalent RIGHT NOW in Warcraft 3 and Starcraft's community. Try digging up an article where it claims that Blizzard has banned X amount of users from battlenet recently...right you can only find that in WoW.

looks like crap
waza000
the graphics should improve, its early development those probly arent the final models/shaders
[QUOTE="Mizarus"]its identical to City Of Heroes....smerlus
Read first and then try again.
i tought the trailers speaked for itself.... ive played city of heroes for some pretty good time, and from what ive seen in the vids the gameplay is pretty much the same, the only main diference being that villains are bundled in the same game and arent a Expansion Pack, aside from that the game is pretty much a clone at this point, but i will eventually try the beta to make sure, after all i might be wrong
(i really loved the battle system tho, this might make the game)
I've played the trials like two times now and i never got addicted... I don't know why. I mean I liked the game because of the free roam(well what MMO isn't) and the nice scenery, and always looking at the map to discover there's actually a little more road up ahead but the game got boring after awhile and the graphics really hurt my eyes(not actually hurt but you get the idea and this is coming from a Wii and Ps3 owner), the music was really bland(IMO, Music is a big part of a game) and the leveling up became too easy, In 10 days I managed to get to level 25-30 plus all the other skills like cooking or whatever. i think the game never appealed much to me because it never tells you "why?" you should level up to the highest ranks, aside from the obvious "bragging rights" but what does your character gain from that. At least in Runescape(yes, I used to play runescape a long time ago and it got addicting) you get to see on skill lists the cool dragon armor, the sharks in fishing, crafting dragon hide into armor and stuff, and instantly you know you have to do it but in WoW they only show you some things you can get in shops which is at least a couple of levels away from you but nothing else.
I'd rate it a 7.5 out of 10.
nintendog66
you sure you played wow? you can craft armor/weapons/jewelery/gadgets(i heard theres even a helicopter you can build now) not to mention it has more skills then any mmo ive ever played, even tho i dont play it anymore i know for sure that WoW is miles ahead Runescape in every single way(duh)
