I use 360 controller for PC games with Pinnacle Game Profiler and it works for most games with alot of customization. Most of which I'm too lazy to use, but I imagine that the ps3 controller is compatible. Pinnacle is trial software, but I forget what stuff you lose after the trial period ends because you can still use the program.

If you don't have online, do not get COD4 or Warhawk yet, or UT3. Uncharted is really only worth a rental value-wise no matter how good it may or may not be (haven't played). Oblivion since you've never played it I'd suggest, as you really can't go wrong with it. I don't love it like some do but since you've never played an elder scrolls game, it'll be awesome for you probably. It's not turn-based or anything like that it's sort of like first person (or third if you choose) hack and slash but you aim your fireballs and arrows and stuff. It's deep and you can't really go wrong getting it. Since you don't have online, most shooters aren't worth it, and while COD4 may be awesome it's only 5 hours of single player, uncharted is 8 if you play through once, ratchet is like 13, assassin's creed is around 18-20 but you probably won't ever replay that game compared to the others. Oblivion and are my recommendations.

Got into Rambling mode but yeah.

Not to support the other guy, but mario isn't a button masher at all, the only button pressing involves different forms of jumping, and timing. Zelda is an arms waver, and metroid just isn't. A button masher is a game that revolves more around hitting the button than timing it right turning it into a mash fest instead of thinking about each button press. This game will probably have weaker combat than ninja gaiden or DMC anyway, as those titles are action games and this is a hybrid. It has about a 40% chance to be really good.

He probably confused other graphical issues with framerate, but mass effect and Fable 2 are the 2 good 360 games I like. I don't care that we're not getting fable because it's probably going to PC so I'll play it on that, but I don't think Peter Molyneux can fail with it if he wants to live. Three death threats with the first one, the second can only make it worse.

It's sorta the exact same thing as gears of war, just with a glaive and limited weapon selection. The camera pans the exact same way when you run and it's a cover whore. It looks interesting but not worth more than some of the exclusives coming. I probably won't get it because I'm one of those that doesn't like Gears of War and not because I am a fanboy.

LOL Gears nothing, then you say "you don't know all the great title [for PS3]" Gears was one of the best games of last year, maybe you should pick it up and PLAY it.

Um, what great titles? Resistance was just a rehashed FPS and Motorstorm is a terribly repetitive shallow racer. Uncharted is just Tomb Raider with more guns and Ratchet and Clank is great, but it's more of the same.

Live is better.

gasmaskman

I was going to reply to the irony of saying any game is repetitive and shallow when Gears is the epitome of repetitive game design, but I'm not into replying to flamebait threads. There needs to be a feature on these forums where an overly obvious marker is put next to threads that are created by idiots trying to get people that don't see the giveaways (there are many) flustered. It would save alot of inexperienced posters time and patience.

Mass Effect needs to get more props from PS3 fanboys btw, Bioware really put out an original flavor of RPG.

I'm partially with the TC, but when you think about the notable platformers of recent times...not many at all. Platformers now are just minor parts of shooters or action games (Uncharted, God of war). It takes alot to make a pure platformer (Sunshine was even a mix) with as much variety and depth as Galaxy, as well as unprecedented design. The fact that the game is well over 20 hours is a feat in itself for todays market.

I'm not going to buy this because it looks unfinished/unpolished and from what I've read from people that posted that have played the *** release. It looked cool, but they failed on the little things (filling the overworld with people and life?). Besides, Zack and Wiki is a great game and no one bought that. Make another buy campaign for that, it obviously didn't work the first however many times.

Is it really innovative? Isn't it just another FPS? I'm really getting sick of that whole genre...The_Pig_Hostage

It has a story that doesn't involve aliens. I'd say that's incredibly innovative :P. The story is actually interesting, as well as being made by timesplitters team, therefore through transitive property (hopefully) it will have awesome multiplayer.

You're forgetting Steam, who cares about gamespy? Steam is a better comparison. Plus, PSN won't be another XBL, it'll be it's own entity. XBL is just an interface, PSN is out to be a virtual community in addition to an interface. It's not at where it could be, but it's still infantile. XBL, besides having a software giant behind it, had 1-3 years prior to everyone else building their online component. XBL was a big step in the right direction for MS, but I like the direction of PSN, as freedom is generally better (look at Bungie's desertion). And to follow up what I stated at the start, Steam, while it has its negative moments, has everyone playing HL2 games/mods using it. It's a standard for Valve, and easily the best (admittedly, only a few I've seen) digital distribution system. While I don't use steam's community features, they're for sure there.
