I wont be buying a PS3 anytime soon (because of the lack of games) but the price seems fair considering what you get. A machine that is graphically on par with the 360, a 60 GB hard drive, a Blu Ray player, free online, and Linux compatibility for £100 more then the 360. When you compare the two machines (games aside) the PS3 is the better value for money imo. tramp

ita too bad that most people buy consoles for the games, but I'm sure that will change in teh coming months/years

What did UMD try to replace. The only reason that was made was for use in the PSP... which is still being used. Don't be a fanboy and just admit that blu-ray is a good thing.

where did i say it tryed to replace anything? it tryed to become a standard format for movies to come out on like blu-ray is. blu-ray will fail like umd thats what im saying.

the problem with your argument is taht umd is made specifically for psp, where as the blu ray will be implimented into much more than just a console. Stand alone players will carry it and even pcs will have BR drives. UMD was never meant to be a major format like BR is suppose to be.

"All I need is 1 mic" I would say Sony never did anything wrong. They didn't change nothing with their system, and yet people are starting to warm up to it. However, 360 in the lead changes add a new SKU. The truth is the heat that Sony got early was ALL because of the price. It's not the lack of games, decent online, or they are arrogant it all because $600 is too many yards to cut for our kids today. Let them buy the 360 then.shungokustasu

if the ps3 was as much or close the 360s price I don't see how anyone could complain
