@iHarlequin @faithxvoid666 No, the money of course goes to whomever kickstarted the project so they can use it on the project, KS gets a little of it for hosting the project but offers no refunds. This is something all backers are aware of and it's a calculated risk - people don't just throw their money blindly at anything; a Kickstarter is typically a one month project and the backers generally expect gameplay footage, people's real names or an actual company's, and will usually ask for updates to prove a project is legitimate until they are satisfied or just ignore it.

Everyone knows some smaller projects by first timers will crash and burn, and like with every other game in development nothing is ever 100 percent certain, but many more games will come to fruition and for the first timers they can go on from there to more advanced projects.

I love the new 3 million dollar stretch goals - more unique paths through the game with even more choices and special encounters/items depending upon what you do. And this team is so talented I am sure they will pull it off, this is exactly what I want to hear. And the companion level is rising, four sounded low but then it will be up to seven and hopefully they'll keep adding them in future stretch goals.

@Zapffe @MoronGotMyName If you actually believe this project is more ambitious than the truly promising Torment, then good luck with that. Garriott has been doing the "interact with every object" hype before the Ultima games as well, we know what that means (ooo you can pick up every object). This is also Tabula Rasa's pre-hype all over again, and you are falling for it. And if Torment surpasses the reactivity level of the original and offers widely varied paths through the game as natural consequences of player actions, which they are the right guys to do, it will be spectacular. See, they even do the hype better - and they won't fail.

MMO's are as relevant to core gamers as Angry Birds and EA is killing themselves slowly if they go through with this and will have to become a new Zynga to survive. And having missed out on the massive opposition to micro-transactions from gamers and intelligent developers alike just shows you are a hype tool that doesn't know what's going on.

@berserker66666 The single player campaigns in starcraft 2 is Blizzard's only redeeming feature now - if they **** that up as well with some DRM from hell they are dead to me.
