Ah, this is actually reasonable. The backlash got so massive that they actually reconsidered, and miraculously enough, said something sensible. While they still have a long, long way to go this is the first step in the right direction I have seen from them for ages.
@aryeec @MoronGotMyName @firehawk998 Plenty of shit games. If they don't even rely on microtransactions for funding, you know you should be playing something better.
@firehawk998 Actually, the implementation of microtransactions in DS3 is far superior to the F2P model. F2P games are shit because they depend 100 percent on microtransactions, a game that only has it as a half-assed component can still be enjoyed without them.
@RPG_Fan_I_Am @MoronGotMyName @J4m3sR4n0r72 It's the upcoming F2P game I despise - a game I was looking forward too until they announced it would be. Sooner or later EA will destroy everything they can.
The morons at EA have this delusional, dogmatic view of what a video game should be like (thanks to market research which they view as the bible) and try to cram every successful franchise into the mold. I feel like EA is ready to take on the casual/MMO/social market now and just hold on to old franchises because they think they can use the brands to milk us for money. Every single EA news item has been pathetic for months now and the downward spiral just continues - I am amazed that the worst company in america manages to keep getting worse.
