May we have a great gaming year! Happy New Year everyone!

Peace.

I'm Back

Well I'm back from the CNET boycott. All in all it was uneventful, I had some moments when I really needed to see what is happening on the site, things that I read about games, and about the G man on other sites, but I held on, and didn't budge. One more difficult moment was when I got my Super Mario Galaxy and I wanted to add it to my games list, and couldn't.

When I returned, Jeff's account has became a subscriber account which was sad to see, and all the new game reviews became suspicious. I hope that this feeling will be gone, but I have a hard time believing it will after what happened and the lack of reliable explanations, in light of measures that have been taken, for example the video review withdrawal.

Jeff is gone :(, I cry

See You CNET, in 25 Hours

Well I'm going to get into action. An action that in my opinion, will not hurt the fine employees of Gamespot, but will make a dent that will be felt by the CNET Corporation, that is if enough people will join us. The action is not to enter any CNET site on the 3rd of December starting at midnight PST (in my area it will be 10 am EET), and that includes our beloved gaming site - Gamespot. It will be hard, but I want to do something about the unethical firing of Jeff Gerstmann.

For the fun of it, I will try to document what I will go through in the 24 hours that I willingly deprive myself of my daily addiction. Tomorrow I will post the "Dairy" for all to see.

So without further ado, goodbye all, see you in 25 hours.

p.s, if you are reading this and it is the 3rd, please, close the window and go and play a Halo 3 Marathon, or something like that, return here on the 4th.

Goodbye.

Executive Decision Thoughts

Well, it is true, Jeff Gerstmann, the face of Gamespot, is no longer with Gamespot. I do not know him personally, but he is definitely at the top 3 places on my people-to-drink-beer-with list. But now all of us have to make a decision about the "Executive decision" that was made on the 29th. Do we support the site that we love and come to every day, or leave to graze at different and untainted pastures?

This is a difficult decision, because even though The G man was the face and heart of this site, there are other man and women that work there, man and women that also make the site what it is for us, people like Alex, Brian, Ryan, and many many more, we have to remember that the core people at gamespot are the good guys, the people that made the "Executive decision" are the people of Cnet, the suits. It is a tough decision but we have to make it, me at least, because if the story is true, I do not want to sponsor a site that handles things the way they do.

The decision making route is still obscure, but in the end we will have to cross the finish line, the question is, with which car will we cross it?

The Jeff Situation

If Mr. Gerstmann was let go from this site on the grounds that a publisher didn't agree with his review of their game, this is it for me with this site. How can a site be not biased if it fires a reviewer for not giving the score they want him to give? All that we will get from now on are bad games. The only problem is that Cnet will never admit that they let him go for that reason, and probably hit him with a law suit, or something if he tells the reason.

I hope this rumor's wrong.

Goombella! Long Absence Explanation

I'm Level 33 - Goombella, as you can see above. I think she's cool.

I haven't posted in the blog for a long time because my parents in law offered me to make a film for their company, for the 60 years celebration that they are planning, so I did it, and it is almost finished, I guess that by this time tomorrow, the DVD will already be burned. It is the longest movie I have ever made, 45 minutes of film, which I directed, shot and edited all on my own. I think it came out nicely.

So now I can go back to gaming until someone will offer me another job!

Next month I'm Buying a PS3! I will keep you posted about this in the coming weeks.

Peace all.
