Renault Pre-race Sepang:

After a disappointing start to the season, Renault is looking forward to gain valuable points for the championship.  A conservative approach will be the underlying strategy while maintaining good race pace and quick pit stops to maintain lead.  A good start is important as well before the first chicane, the Renault must come out on top.  This is Ibrahim's home race and so the team is working hard to give him the best result possible.  Ibrahim also produced great qualifying results for the second consecutive pole and is looking for a good result too.

I'm not very deep into F1.. more motogp fella... can someone explain how a single tire supplier would cut costs to for the cars?  Don't the tire companies eat their shipping, handling, and R&D costs themselves in order to sell more tires to the public?  In motogp, it is very interesting to see competition between tire companies...

I would sincerely hope that commercial car manufacturers be involve in F1 for the sake of R&D... They do have a bigger budget but sometimes won't do it because they understand their inferior machinery.  I mean what is Super Auguri?  Its just the name of the Japanese fellow with a super in front of it.....  I am glad that Toyota and Honda... relative new comers in the automotive world have joined F1... perhaps more can follow suit.

Perhaps a NASCAR style approach would make it interesting... at least give more face to the viewing public... I don't like nascar but I like the way they approach the tv screen.

Renault Bahrain post-race press release:

After a rookie mistake by Stevens of Torro Rosso, the race was lost by Ibrahim after a very good start and a good race pace... Kollini came from behind the pack to lead the race at one point only to have a weak race strategy impeding him for podium finish.  Renault will definitely take this lesson and produce better results in the future.
