funny thing is, i've been lookin at both these processors and I'm stumped. The E8400 seems all around better, but I heard the Quad core is better for the future...

I currently have 169.44 for my 8800 GT. If I upgrade to 174.74 will I encounter a crapload of problems? Also, will I seen an FPS increase in games like crysis, or does it make no difference. thx just wondering...

I also have a 8800GT, but with a Q6600. At 1280x1024, the game can perform problematically. However, once I went down to 1024x768 and only kept the most important settings on very high (post-processing, shaders, water and game effects) and the rest on high, the game started performing marvelously and still looks just as good.
Try turning down the resolution and some of the details. Also be sure to run the latest version.

I have an 8800 GT and can't get 30 FPS on Crysis. I tried putting half of the settings on med and the other half on high but I sometimes get into the low 15s. I have all the crysis patches, and have the latest forceware...

My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64(x2) 4200+

2GB of Ram

8800 GT

My CPU is gettin a bit old, and it probably is a bottleneck for my GPU, but is it really that bad that I can only play on medium at 1280 x 1024? any feedback would be great.

K, so I got an 8800 GT right next to me, it for only 199 $. Anyway, this will be my new PC specs:

AMD Athlon 64(X2) 4200+ 2.20 Ghz

2GB of Ram

8800 GT

will I be able to get 30 FPS on Crysis, 1280x1024 with perhaps everything on high except for shaders? Thanks.
