Celebration

Ok, I know this is 3 days overdue but I figured what the hell. Time is short so I'll make this quick

October 7th was my one-year anniversery of being with Gamespot,

WOOOooooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Thank You

Second Job, and I'm actually going to enjoy it

You may now refer to me as DJ Nikko.....Ok, not really but thats besides the point

I'm going to start working for a DJ company while training under the supervision of a professional DJ. I first heard about this job when a friend of mine (a DJ) told me about this one DJ company looking for people; So I decided to apply and sure enough I got the job.

I chose to do this because I'm a huge music fan and I love working in an active enviornment. We'll ne doing wedding receptions, corparate parties, school dances, nightclubs, special events, etc. I will also be making $150 a day and plus when I recommend our services I get 20% commission, which is about $150-200 per show, even more if I work that show

I wonder if I should recommend some songs from Lumines

Knee-Deep in the Hooplah Revolution

For months, it seemed like all the fuss surrounding the Nintendo Revolution's Controller was the only thing fueling interested in the console itself. Now that the controller itself has been revealed, it's seems a large portion of this gaming community is betting that the controller is the company's future. I got some news for you guys: IT'S JUST A DAMN CONTROLLER!

I don't ever recall a time where I judged a gaming system because of it's controller; I haven't done it before and I sure as hell won't do it now. Yeah, I'll admit when it was first revealed that it raised a couple of eyebrows for me, but then I realized "Who cares?" If this is what Nintendo was so tight-lipped about, then I can see why. You take one good look at the controller and you see how different and unique it is from every other controller on the market. Once you get passed this stage, you can actually start imagining the possibilities this could actually have.

I don't ever recall a time where a controller was such a big deal regarding the console in general, but yet when Nintendo became silent about it, everyone seemed to turn the tables on Nintendo and judge them based on something that isn't "judge-worthy" in the first place. Judging a console based on it's controller is like having teeth on your finger, totally messed up.

This goes for every other next-gen console out there, even the PS3. Even though the "Batman Boomerag" controller for the PS3 may not be the final prototype, if it was, I wouldn't care; I'd still be buying it because I'd be looking at the games and the experience, not the shape of the controller. If you don't like the way the controller is, stop whining and get used to it because I'm not gonna care if you're going to piss and moan about it.

Whether or not you were caught-up in the Revolution Controller Craze, you have to admit that Nintendo managed to grab everyone's attention with the controller and maybe perhaps drawed them towards what it can actually do. Makes you think a little bit, yes?

Gas Prices are higher than a Phish Concert

You know, I know that gas prices are high after Hurrican Katrina, but they were also high before the hurricane hit. I find it funny that they NEVER gave us a reason why the oil prices are rising, aside from the usual "Oil Prices are expected to rise" excuse.

What's also funny is that since the oil prices are rising, President Bush's approval rating goes down. I find it funny that Bush has nothing to do with oil prices but yet the majority of the public seems to think otherwise.

My Mouf....

This morning I had them pulled out, and I have to say it feels good for now. Being knocked-out was kinda trippy as it happens suddenly but I awoke within 80 minutes with those little bastards out of there. My mouth is still numb from all the novicane but it's really not all that bad except I have these huge holes in the back of my mouth. I also can't eat solid foods until Friday which is good because I'm visiting the state fair again with my girlfriend, which means I can eat all of the state fair crap I want.

So overall, I'm pretty good.........until the novicane wears off that is

Wisdom Teeth are coming out tomorrow

Oral Surgery is fun :|..................Ok, it's not; In fact, any kind of surgery makes me cringe. I thought I wouldn't have to have this procedure done but I have no choice. The good news is that I'm only having the bottom ones removed, because the top ones never came in. The bad news is I'm not gonna be able to eat practically anything :x

Hopefully, I'll be able to eat something by Friday

Final Fantasy IX is not worthy of the title "Final Fantasy"

3 years ago, I stopped playing FFIX because it didn't have that Final Fantasy feel to it and I just flat out hated it, despite playing it for 12 hours. So a few days ago I tried to start off from where I left off in my game; I thought that maybe my appeal to the game would be different and that I could actually enjoy it. My views on the game didn't change at all, in fact, I still hated it just as much as I did 3 years ago. I tried to enjoy it, but I just couldn't.

Maybe my tastes are a little varied, all of the Final Fantasy games I've ever played had that "Final Fantasy" feel to it. In Final Fantasy IX, that feeling was missing and I can't explain it. Maybe Squaresoft wanted to try something new, but if they did then they did a terrible job impressing me.

College.....

Starting September 7th, I'll be starting college. Right now, I am feeling a tad uneasy as this is somewhat of a big deal to me (OK, it's a really big deal to me; but you get the idea).

I have an idea what to expect, but I know there's gonna be that "slap-in-the-face" surprise that I won't expect; I just don't know what it is yet. Also, quite a few of my friends have gone to other parts of the country. Like my buddy and former co-worker Noah whose at Boston College, and Steph whose attending Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. I didn't realize how big of a deal this college thing really was or how it would affect my life until just recently.
