The situation is delicate in the sense that I want to remain friends with her, but just don't see a future with her anymore. I think it has run it's course. I know we are both going to be hurt and I don't want to hurt her too much.

I didn't really care until you suggested that reading books are somehow a greater use of your time. Books are an inferior medium. They hammer language into your head with little personal response. The consistently cerebrally demanding nature of videogames is far more likely to nuture your brain, which is really all you ask out of a non-physical recreational activity.
