@Suikogaiden Donate? Or preorder for $20? That's how ~77K people saw it. I don't think anybody cares if their $20 is going to change the industry, you get a new, classic RPG out of it without any publishers telling them what to add or what to cut from it. There is a distinct lack of real RPGs out there if you haven't noticed, and this is the only way to get one made because all that people buy now are AAA bro games.
@slyguy65 don't quote me but I heard there are infinite dragons, as they are treated more like a rare mob encounter and are randomly generated. there are several key mandatory dragons, but you'll run into lots of dragons all the time they claim.
I think the main problem lies in the fact that once a review is out, it and the score are set in stone. More often than not, the developers are on a time crunch and end up fixing many glitches or holes within the first week. I feel, as a daily reader, that your reviews are as timely as possible and that you hold yourselves to a higher standard of quality. I also feel that even the reviewers know that some of their pinch-points will be fixed within a week of writing. Reviewing games is changing, and so is the development. The true finished product is usually a week after release, which is what the entirety of the general public is experiencing. One option may be to amend the review, on certain more troublesome cases, after a single week. The original review stands, but allow yourselves to add updates to the bottom keeping the public informed about what the product they actually play represents. And let the score go up if the change truely reflects what you see after the game is mainstreamed. I am not sure if this is possible due to how meta scores are handled, but the development and release of games demands it, much like how GameSpot is rethinking how to handle reviews in a new era. Keep up the good work and I know you'll figure it out.
It is likely that none of us reading this (core gamers) are the social gaming target audience they are talking about. There is a lot of money to be made from demographics different from ours, so I do not see social gaming as a threat to the current core gamer's freetime. It is expanding the market and likely drawing new people into our world, plus giving developers more money to fund AAA projects that we will be buying. Anything that keeps developers in business is a good thing in my opinion.
I am all for it but the price of TVs will have to Really drop in line with current HDTVs. I love my 52" LCD and I am not ready to part with it yet. 56" 3D LED tvs will have to be under $2000 for me to consider upgrading. This will happen sooner or later, but I am thinking 2+ years. In the mean time I will make the move for Move, $150 for some fresh experiences I can handle. $4000 for upgrading my living room to 3D is not going to happen.
