I've wanted to do this for a while. I think I've got enough for a list here. I'll be listing games, and then specific tracks that stand out in the whole OST, and I'll talk a little bit about the games themselves. This should be an interesting read. I'll also link to each track so that you can take a listen. This is going to be extremely opinionated.
#10 - Trauma Center: Under the Knife
I first saw this game by watching a longplay. Seriously. At the time I saw this, I never owned a DS OR a PSP. Also, I've always found medicine to be an interesting profession, but never something I'd personally want to do. Now, I watched it on the Longplay Channel on YouTube, and what I saw simply amazed me. I was totally impressed with this game, I wanted this game. It struck me to see how original it was, and how Atlus was actually being innovative aside from their weeaboo wank fests of Persona. The game is played in a visual novel s-t-y-l-e (WTF THEY CENSOR ST-Y-LE??) and you do operations for the gameplay aspect. But what earns it a place on the list is that the music was composed by none other than the man himself, Shoji Meguro. It's kind of odd that he'd do the music for this, but he makes it stand out, it's fantastic.
His ability to make the music for this game is second to none. He makes it all very creepy when it needs to be, and it all has a very serious touch to it. I can't really describe it too well, but know that it works.
The game takes place around a rookie doctor and general surgeon who just got his license named Derek Stiles (DS. Clever), and his nurse assistant Angie Thompson. In the beginning, he makes some serious mistakes that make him regret wanting to become a doctor, but through a series of events, he becomes a legendary doctor who possesses something known as the "Healing Touch", an ability that allows the surgeon to perform remarkable feats, such as concentrating to the point time is slowed down to them in his case. He ends up joining Caduceus with Angie, an organization at the forefront of medicine to battle the insidious Delphi and their viral weapon known as G.U.I.L.T. (Gangliated Utrophin Immuno Latency Toxin).
The game also saw a re-release on the Nintendo Wii, "Trauma Center: Second Opinion", featuring a new doctor who would later become a prevalent main character in Trauma Team who is known as Naomi Kimishima. Her fake name was Nozomi Weaver (NW. Clever, again...) And all new operations with a digitally remastered soundtrack by Shoji Meguro once again.
Notable Tracks (I'll link both versions of the tracks, the ones from Second Opinion and UTK.)
Patient Profile (Operation Briefing) - UTK - Second Opinion
Judgment Day (Savato Operation) - UTK - Second Opinion
Code Blue! (Emergency Operation) - UTK - Second Opinion
On The Cutting Edge of Medicine (Caduceus USA Theme) - UTK - Second Opinion
Sins Can Be Forgiven(The Burden of Failure) - UTK - Second Opinion
All in all, it's something that probably won't interest a lot, but it's very original, and adds spice to a mostly bland genre of story telling, which is the Visual Novel **** Trauma Team perfected their story telling methods, however. Still, the only problem with the Trauma Center games is that they are stuck on the Wii. Maybe since PSMove is coming out, they'll re-release it for PS3 and increase their content and graphics capability and insta load times? Naahhh....
#9 - Trauma Team
Ok, now I know what you're thinking. I just did the first game, why would I put another in the same series and try to make it look like I'm NOT trying to pull things out of my @ss? Well, I'll give you a good reason.
Atsushi Kitajoh first made his debut in making music for the Trauma Center series on the game "Trauma Center: New Blood", which was released on the Nintendo Wii. He did an outstanding job on it, so much so they decided to bring him back for Trauma Team. He has really shined on his work for this game, I can't put it any other way. Though there is a distinct lack of focus on the surgery and music surrounding it, he made all of the tracks in every profession very fresh. The game is variety incarnate, and his work helps this stand out as a musical greatness.
Trauma Team is a game that focuses on six doctors with six different abilities. General Surgery, First Response, Orthopaedic Surgery, Endoscopic Surgery, Diagnosis, and Medical Forensics. Though this is the first game that deviates from the recognizable operation briefing, sadly, it still does a good job on it's own.
Emergency Conference (Briefing)
Rosalia's Thorns (First Response)
Unraveled Truth (Forensics) MY FAVORITE
Strength and Skill (Orthopaedics)
Twisted Rosalia (Surgery)
Face to Face (Diagnosis)
Seeking Within (Endoscopy)
Struggle for Life (Surgery)
Hero's Resolve (First Response)
Truly splendid, at least to me...
#8 - Baldur's Gate 2
See, I like the music of this game, but I've never actually played it. Very fail, I know. And there's a certain someone going to come and beat me down for it. When he told me that this game had some amazing tunes, I just had to download it's OST. Sure enough, it was pretty decent. But, well, since our tastes differ greatly, for the most part, this won't be in the top 5 on the list, but I think it deserves a place here, much like Diablo 2's soundtrack does. There's even a funny story behind that, but I will save it for later.
Heh...I can't really make a description for this, but I will list some notable tracks, at least ones that I thought were impressive.
Tavern Music
The Good
City Battle 2
Romance 1
Jon Irenicus Battle and Peace
Main Title Theme
I'm an audiophile.
#7 - Mabinogi
Alright, alright. I know, I know. Weeaboo wet dream come true, I know what I've said about this game. See, the only problem with this game is the fact that it's an F2P MMO. If this was a single player game with multi player abilities, this would be a very awesome game. Sadly it revolves around a cash shop and bad service, at least for the American version. Before I get to the ranting about Nexon NA and such, I will stop myself. Let's just keep in mind, however, this game has an AMAZING sound track and I've got it all on a playlist for Winamp. Every NPC has their own theme, well, at least most of them do. The ones in Iria and mot of Tara don't.....
Still, the game features OVER 200 MP3s, and with constant patches thanks to the courtesy and intelligence of it's Korean developer "DevCAT", it will continue to rise.
Also, they say that the people who wrote the story for G9 were satanists. Hmm...
Counter-Attack of Light: Shadowy Requiem Claimh Solais Boss Theme ::I love it greatly.
Wishes Travel Taillteann City Theme
A Kiss on the Wings of the Goddess Snowfield Theme, I couldn't find a link! I uploaded it instead!
Frozen Lake of Tears Pars Snowflake Ruins Dungeon Theme
Chest of Dreams Alexina's Theme
Shadow of Early Dawn Uroboros Boss Fight Theme
Asda's Constellation Nuadha, The King of All Gods Boss Fight Theme
Ara Shadow Doppleganger Fight Theme, Final Boss
The Plague of the Earth Boss Theme for Shadow Realm in Tara
Song of Wishes Sliab Cuilin Area Theme ::Once again I couldn't find a link. Uploaded! This is good too, if you like cheery themes.
Though this game has a lot of themes, this is what I recommend. I recommend the boss themes HIGHLY, because they are climactic and whatnot. Moving on...
#6 - Valkyria Chronicles
Hell yeah, Valkyria Chronicles. I recommended this to Taxonomic but he hates the amount of story it has, comparing it to the god-awful Planescape video game from ages past. I wish he would see past it to some degree, but oh well. I DOMINATE this game, this is MY game. Not only does it satisfy my strategy + story desires, it has a strong soundtrack to go with it. Sometimes it drags on, but there's an incredible variety. I got an A rank on every single mission during my first playthrough, and you can have my save file and check it to prove it. However, you'll need to go through about 10 seconds of scrolling to find it. I have probably over a 100 saves in the game.
I was naughty.
Anyway, here we are...
Main Title Theme
Conferral of Honors (Hey, I love this because I got an A rank and killed all Aces and Enemy Commanders every mission!)
Valkyria's Awakening (Nice little tune. It's civil war with technological badasses revered as gods in the midst of it)
A Moment of Relief
Randgrith Archduke Family
We Are Squad 7
The Final, Decisive Battle
I really can't get over this game. It's a magical experience that not only provides challenge to the lovers of a good strategy game, but it truly shows something else. Valkyria Chronicles and .hack G.U. are games that inspire Resonance of Fate, it is my strong belief. .hack G.U. has the greatest Real time combat ever conceived, and Valkyria Chronicles is the best strategy game on a console PERIOD. It only makes sense the next best thing is Resonance of fate! Of course Resonance of Fate is extremely off topic here, I just had to go on that little tirade...
Squad 7 in Valkyria Chronicles is such a ragtag group of countrymen, but they end up saving the entire country, both from a greedy federation and a conquer-hungry empire. They are in the middle of a massive war, and yet they can protect their peaceful home. Welkin is the ultimate commander, he refuses to rely on valkyria power to win the battles. And they did just that. They won through skill and tactics alone. The story is so beautifully written in an amazing fashion, I can't stop talking about it. I love to murder everyone possible in games, but I also want deep stories, I enjoy being engrossed in a game that not only has awesome mechanics, but likable characters and story. The likes of Dot Hack and this game make me obsessed about having an emotional story where you CAN lose PERMANENTLY, and it really makes you feel bad if someone dies. Fortunately, I never lost anyone. I ruined all of my former strategy if I had someone go to 0 health, actually. I had to save them. So teddy-bear of me.
Everyone is a Captain Kirk, but not Welkin. Everyone disrespects Squad 7, but in the end, THEY won the war. Everyone else got pwned.
MUST HAVE VALKYRIA CHRONICLES 2!!!!!!!!!

The Top 10 Worst Shooters Conceived And Developed
by Musambani on Comments
It's taken me a while to figure this out, and with the recent failure that is Transexuals: Want for Cybersex, I figured it's a good time to put this there. I'm more of a shooter and action game lover than I am of RPGs, but that isn't to say I do not approve of RPGs at all. I love them both, but I need fast paced things most of the time. Like RoF, for example. It's just hard for me to sit down these days and play some of the classic titles (Baldur's Gate), for a plethora of reasons you do not care about.
Let's get this over with.
#10 - Halo 2
Halo was and is a less-than-mediocre series, but what made me hate it the most is the fact that the aiming system was HORRIBLE. The aiming reticule was 25% BELOW the center of the screen. Maybe 10%, but it wasn't a normal FPS. I felt like a mentally retarded person aiming his mouth up to catch breast milk from his mother everytime I aimed, it was ridiculous. It, like the rest of the entire franchise, is a horrible shooter. The guns lack pop, the enemies are generic, and the game is way too long for it's own good. The only fun you can have playing it is to teamkill and grief.
#9 - Blacksite: Area 51
One cold Christmas I went out searching for some gifts for myself. I had never heard of this game, but I had played an Area 51 on the PS2, which was loads better. Upon loading it, I was confused. This is one of the most bland, boring shooters I had played at the time, and thought nothing could be more generic. There was no music, the guns were inaccurate, enemies were tiny, it was like an action figure on action figure game. I never beat this game due to it's sh!t-factor.
#8 - Lost Planet 2
For obvious reasons, this is on the list. Lost Planet 1 would be here too, but the only thing keeping me from raging on that is that it was old and was an experimentation. Too bad CAPCOM failed to realize the true potential of the series. I have also written the only good, factual, and truthful review of this game.
#7 - Tabula Rasa
Heh, it's an MMO, but it was still a shooter. Richard Garriott, being the D!ck F@ggot he is and being the traitor he is, thought he could emulate PSO with this game. Really, when I look at it now, I think he was trying to rip off that game, since PSO did ranged combat so very well in that kind of setting. Too bad the guy failed it, and the game eventually shut down thankfully.
#6 - GoldenEye - Rogue Agent
If this game isn't on anyone's list for being a bad game, they don't deserve to be playing games. Easily one of the worst shooters ever made, a lazily developed project. Do I need to say anything? All you'll have to do is watch a YouTube video to see how bad it is.
#5 - Resident Evil: Dead Aim
Once again, it's an easy choice, but I personally hated it myself. I think this game marked a point where the whole series started going wrong. Admittedly, I started hating Resident Evil after Code Veronic. The only reasons I like RE4 and RE5 is because of the endless hordes rushing at you, and you have legitimate, fair ways of handling it if you're skilled enough. RE5 is only good because of Mercenaries, too.
#4 - Deus Ex: Invisible War
Deus Ex is the greatest RPG ever created, no game can contest with it's glory. Taxonomic can put it so much better than I can, but let's be clear on one thing. The sequels blew ass, and I'm glad I never played them. With how much I know about it, this deserves to be on this list, since it greatly hampers the first game's reputation if you play it first.
#3 - Resistance 2
The Resistance series is a horrible series. Sporting the most unfair AI I've ever seen in a video game, they just had to make it worse by loading up almost all of the enemies with the gun that can shoot through walls, so you can never hide. It's like being kicked in the groin, and then someone else kicks you straight up the aASSss a few seconds later. You have to play this game to see how terrible it is. It's the kind of shooter where the health bar is completely pointless, enemies are unstoppable, and the only way to win is to exploit and cheat with everything you can.
#2 - Call of Duty series
This is a given. This franchise of games is nothing more than a military recruitment tool. Even as a shooter, it fails. BIG TIME. The only way you can enjoy this game is to go on the multi player with your hacks loaded and go in guns blazing. Do everything possible to ruin as many people's lives as you can, it's the only way to play this game. If you can't do that, then go on YouTube and watch the many videos of the griefing in this game. The only detail that went into this game is how they can show the youth of this country how everyone else is bad, and only America is good.
#1 - The Godfather II
For. Obvious. Reasons. Read my review.
Special mentions of bad shooters-
Bioshock
Aliens vs. Predator (PS3)
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2
Brink
Kane and Lynch: Dead Men
Army of Two
Turok
Rogue Warrior
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
Battlefield series
If you want to add anything, feel free. Also, Taxonomic should do an opposite list of GOOD shooters...
Debunking, I mean, Destroying, the 3DS For the Last Time
by Musambani on Comments
I honestly don't understand this fan phenomenon anymore. It's as bad as the Twilight series and it's fans. It's inexplicable, it makes no sense, and I don't even know why I keep trying to ask myself anything ranging from simple to complex to help me understand why I want to know how people can be this brain damaged. We have all of this technology, yet people can still remain as naive as the day they were born. All I can do is post about it and rant on my sh!tty blog.
The PSP is a stronger handheld, spec wise, and capable of being flashed with Custom Firmware to enable Homebrew games, which basically means you can emulate PSX games on your PSP. Not only that, if a game proves to be too difficult, you can always cheat with it, heh. I turned in my DS, I only had two games for it by the way, and I traded it in for a pre-owned PSP1000 that had ancient firmware, and I did just that with mine, I now own two of them, one legit copy for all official firmwares so I can play games on that, and the other for my misc. needs and outdoors emulation.
Funny thing is, the community around the PSP are releasing plug-ins, one is in beta right now, that allows even 5.50 to play 6.20 firmware games, like Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.
I'm getting off track.
What I'm here to discuss, and ultimately prove is still horse dung, is the amount of games they confirmed that would launch with the 3DS. Let's take a look at that list, you can find it here
52 games, huh? Well, let's see what we've got.
Animal Crossing - Not Surprising in the slightest. Another re-hash, as typical of Nintendo.-1
Asphalt GT - *yawn*, a racer? Please. -1
Assassin's Creed - Lost Legacy - The assassin's Creed series is bland and boring, and will undoubtedly be the same on 3DS and PSP... -1
Baseball (Konami Untitled) - More sports? I never played sports games, since they always cheat, and are always boring. Besides, if I wanted to play a sport, I'd probably gather my IRL friends together and kick stray, rabid and dangerous dogs and other animals for fun. -1
BloodRayne - The Shroud - The series on the PS2 was, at least for me, tolerable. I kind of liked it, but it got boring mostly fast. This couldn't possibly be of any interest to anyone. -1
Bomberman - Like we need another one of these. -1
Boy and His Blob - Never having played the original myself, I don't know what the general consensus of this game is, but it's most likely a game way past it's time in the spotlight. We don't need these constant re-hashes because Nintendo can't do anything original. -1
Carnival Games (Take-2 Untitled) - Really? Really? Come on. -1
Chocobo Racing 3D - Seeing as how it's both Final Fantasy(Trust me, this would be the last fantasy I would ever have myself), and a racer, I laugh. -1
Contra (Konami Untitled) - I've played Contra myself, and Taxonomic has also claimed to have beaten the game without the life cheat, but I don't think I'll ever get past the controller throwing I had with this game and try beating it without, but why would I want this game in 3D? Why would I want to spend $250 on the HANDHELD to play this when I can download the EMULATOR and download it for FREE? -1
Cubic Ninja - I laughed IRL, seriously. -1
Dead or Alive 3D - One game I would like to support, but no developer wants an AO rating. We can't even kill kids in games anymore. Besides, it's just a fighting game, why bother when far superior versions and other games are already out there? -1
de Blob 2 - A wii game at first, now just the same on your overpriced handheld! -1
DJ Hero 3D - *Musambani>Action>Facepalm* -1
Dragon Ball (Namco/Bandai Untitled) - Like the ones on the PS2 weren't enough, right? Another generic fighting game. -1
Dragon Quest (Square Enix Untitled) - Because we can never have enough of the same thing. -1
Driver Renegade - I don't even have to say anything, do I? -1
Dynasty Warriors - I am actually a fan of the DW series, but it's gotten stale as more and more games were made. It's like everytime they make a new Dynasty Warriors game, they are doing what I do when it comes to editing, except they wait until AFTER they release it. Pass. -1
Etrian Odyssey - Another of Atlus' heavy grind dungeon crawlers. -1
FIFA Soccer - Once again, I lol'd. -1
Final Fantasy (Square Enix Untitled) - Again, I laugh. -1
Frogger (Konami Untitled) - ^_^; -1
Gundam (Namco/Bandai Untitled) - I might be interested in this, but there's only one problem. It's on the DS. I've always been a big fan of the "Gundam" series of games on Playstation, even though I've watched little of the anime. I dunno, I guess I just like throttling hordes of robots in my elite mobile suit. Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 and Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs Zeta Gundam are the best ones IMO. GvZG even allows you to alter the timeline of the whole story, and bring people to the future who normally wouldn't. Pretty interesting, and is on the PS2. +1
Kid Icarus: Uprising - Perhaps. -1
Kingdom Hearts (Square Enix Untitled) - Hell. It's where Enix and all of it's fans belong. -1
Madden NFL - No. -1
Mario Kart - No. Just no. -1
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D - Ahhh, the infamous MGS 3DS game. Guess what? It doesn't even count as a launch title, Hideo Kojima said it himself. Besides, I already played the PS2 version like many other people. They just want money like Capcom. -1
Music game (Harmonix Untitled) - I'll stick to Project Diva, thanks. -1
Ninja Gaiden - Now you can chuck your expensive handheld in frustration! -1
Nintendogs + Cats - No DS is complete without a complement of about 50 titles of this particular game...thing. -1
Paper Mario - Another remake. -1
PilotWings Resort - What..?? -1
Pro Evolution Soccer (Konami Untitled) - No. -1
Resident Evil Revelations - Oh christ, Revelations. Hahaha, I get into arguments over this game. What Capcom isshowing you now is nothing more than pre-render. No gameplay footage was ever shown on Revelations either. The DS certainly will never perform on the scale of the PS3 or the Xbox360. Not only that, the MT Framework which Capcom is lauding as a good engine is just crap. Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5 have terrible graphics, they hide all of their low-res textures in brown sludge, icky green haze(EVEN IN CAVES!!!). Model details are good, but this generally isn't a good engine. Thankfully with the PC release of RE5, there have been some awesome mods which show off what they are hiding. Not only that, the lighting model they use is very faulty. The only reason this game is appearing on 3DS is because Capcom is jumping on a bandwagon to make some quick money. But this is a big kick in the balls to RE Fans due to three reasons that we easily saw in the trailer. BSAA Jill + Real Zombies + New Mansion. I rest my case and silently place my palm on my face... -1
RIDGE RACER (Namco/Bandai) - Funny. -1
Saints Row: Drive-By - Just water down the 360 version more than it already is and it will fit nicely. -1
Samurai Warriors 3D - I'm getting bored with this. -1
Shin Megami Tensei - No details on this, so can't say anything. -1
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona - Ok, I separated these two for a reason because this is utter bullsh!t. No lie, these games aren't going to appear on 3DS, this is a bold faced lie. First of all, Devil Survivor was a side game, and SMT has never made sequels to unrelated side games, except for DDS which was really one game split into 2. Plus, it flopped. BIG TIME.
Secondly, the only Persona being developed is for the PS3. RD4 doesn't have enough programmers to do even do ONE game in 3 years time, let alone 2 in 2 years. That right there is debunked. Fact. -2
Sims 3 - I WTF'd IRL. -1
Sonic (SEGA Untitled) - Come on, SEGA. Work more on Valkyria Chronicles 2, not this blue rodent crap way past it's time. -1
Star Fox 64 3D - Now you can see your polygons in 3D. That sentence feels like a contradiction of itself. -1
Steel Diver - Oh god, are you serious? This game started as a TECH DEMO 6 YEARS AGO for the original DS' touch screen. -1
Super Monkey Ball (SEGA Untitled) - No. -1
Super Robot (Namco/Bandai) - ~~(=^o^=)/~~ -1
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition - The voice acting on the PS3 version was fail, and it was the same game. Much like Super Mario Galaxy 2 was to the first game. -1
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon - Remake....... -1
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - Another remake....shovelware all over the god damned place. -1
Winning Eleven (Konami Untitled) - Oh you. -1
Zelda Ocarina of Time* - And people actually spooged over this? -1
There you have it. ONLY ONE GAME can even be considered passable and original on this apparently AMAZING NEW PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY. Now, if you actually spend $250 for this crap, I would like to shake your hand and applaud just how stupid you are. That one game I +1'd is mostly opinion, the series of Gundam games isn't particularly stellar, but it's not too bad either. I wish I could reach into the celestial ether beyond the universe itself, and find the meaning of life, and answers to all of my questions. The first thing I would ask is how ridiculous life can get, and WILL get in the future.
Let's get this straight. Nintendo is charging you, most likely, $250 or somewhere in TRIPLE DIGITS, in THIS ECONOMY, and all you'll get is this? Why bother? Seriously? All of these games you can get on consoles, where they were done better, and half of them can all be easily emulated for FREE. They never even showed a tiny bit of 3D footage, why should you believe this isn't the same console for a higher price? All the DS has compared to the PSP is a load of visual novel games with no action, games meant to drag furries in for extra profit, and general casual bullcrap.
And yet, Nintendo says it will be for Hardcore gamers. This is so mind numbing, honestly, and I really should stop thinking about it. Oh well, live and learn, I guess.
You know what the PSP had this year?
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, and though I disagree with critics, everyone claims it's the greatest PSP game ever made.
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Phantasy Star Portable 2
Ys Seven. YS SEVEN.
Not only these, but look at the library of PSP games before now, and think of what was released before. Compare it to the DS Libraries. Just look at it. All of the YS games have been remade for PSP. Star Ocean 1 & 2 have superior versions on the PSP (I even own SO1 on PSP because I could never beat the translated one due to errors!)
The PSP has all of the RPGs. Oh by the way, I wanted to make this comparison for a while.
Would you play this, or this? Truth hurts, doesn't it?
What does your DS have, that the PSP does not have? I ask you that simple question.
Also, Shigeru Miyamoto is a loser.
The Sad State Lost Planet 2 Has Inflicted Upon Me
by Musambani on Comments
It's been a few hours since I put the final touches on my impromptu review of Lost Planet 2. I'm never in the habit of editing my stuff when I finish it, I just post it. Everytime I try to edit something before posting it, I find that I always overlook small things that I just have to mention. But regardless, I finished it and I like it the way it is now. I want to write this blog so people can comment on the review, and so I can complain more.
I mean, I was so hyped. And who wouldn't be? With a trailer like this, and please watch every second of it, how could you not be fascinated with this game? it features squad combat, grappling hooks, tons of weapons, and bugs and warmongering human enemies. The first game was a solo job, but now it's the battle of the many. How could this be so ruined?!
I don't know why I kept closing my eyes to it. I'm supposed to be better than this, but Lost Planet 2 really bites. I can't stand it anymore. I want it to be a good game, it can-- No, it COULD have been a good game. With so many missteps in design choices, I doubt any of these problems can be rectified, even if Capcom is an awesome company. I sat in front of my TV and just stared at my Lost Planet 2 case on the shelf for five minutes. I facepalmed and put RE5 in for a little bit to quell my emo behavior.
Why is it that every time our graphics get prettier, our games get shorter and shorter? That may be an improper figure of speech to use on Lost Planet 2, but it DID place quite the effort into it's physics and it's overall detail. The game looks impressive, and very beautiful in some parts, but it's just so terrible at the same time. It's just gutter trash now that I look at it. I can't force myself anymore.
Looking at brainless idiots like this, I just hit my head on my desk. I can't stress it enough, this game is solid, it has potential, but it has been wasted. I don't think it's coming back from it. But they demand backwards compatibility, they want it to be easier. For god's sake the hardest difficulty in this game is a huge joke. The enemy AI just stands around more than half the time, and some Akrid bosses are just rehashes of the first game's like the big ice-breath Akrid and the Gulp Worms.
And yet, in spite of the fact of how much the Campaign desperately needs an overhaul, they constantly demand more multi-player maps, and they still complain about how people are playing Femmes Fatales even though it doesn't matter what faction you play since you can wear anything on anybody anyway. They're constantly tearing each other up over this boring, monotonous mode that means nothing to the overall experience.
What also pisses me off is they constantly make up all this drivel and lies and say it needs to be fixed. For crying out loud I throw more than that sometimes and I never get slowed down. They just fail at technology, but it doesn't surprise me. The grenade is powerful because it's an end-game item. Or rather, an end-slot-machine-game item. It doesn't need to be fixed. The more you fix something, the more fragile to breaking it will be come.
Not only that, I'm so sick and tired of it by now. There is no reason to keep playing this game, and all of the losers inhabiting it now are just going to drive it into the dirt. Maybe it's not such a bad thing, but boy is it extremely disappointing to me. I think the only thing that will drag me out of this rut this game put me in is Hunted: Demon's Forge with my friend. But watch, it will suck too. This market is becoming so saturated with utter crap, I wonder if a game crash isn't too far off..?
The first thing on people's minds on release day was getting that lame ass skin that they even signed up for Hong Kong PSN accounts to get their hands on it earlier. How pathetic can you get? One word on Monster Hunter, concerning the Wii release of Tri: If an American localization of a game needs to remove the pay to play feature just to attract players, then you know it's doomed. They didn't think it'd succeed here, so they removed that pay-2-play thing. Sounds awfully familiar doesn't it?
I just needed to get some weight off my shoulders. GG, Lost Planet 2!
RPG Idea - Hatsune Miku: Leeky Pantsu
by Musambani on Comments
"Though a niche market in Japan, Hatsune Miku of the Vocaloid2 Series has grown into a world renowned figure. A singer who can hit any tone, and play any instrument. All over the world, people listen to songs composed from the Yamaha girl. Once, she had debuted on the PSP(Playstation Portable) in her own video game entitled "Project Diva", where players could dress her up in a variety of skimpy outfits and watch her sing as they time button presses to earn points in an arcade fashion, it featured some new songs of it's own as well."
"Now, experience Hatsune Miku in a completely different fashion as you join her on a comedical quest to save the world from bad singing. This revolutionary game will feature a combat system reminiscent of games like Star Ocean 4, and a huge world to explore and many quests to do that will let you see into your party member's lives more and learn new abilities. You take the role of Hatsune Miku, the vocaloid heroine herself. You have a home base in the Yamaha company building, which is constantly under assault and you must join other vocaloids to protect it often."
"Your party will consist of a fully customizable group of all the vocaloids created, even unofficial ones! Special costumes such as the "Black Rock Shooter" and other rare fan designs will be incorporated into this game as well. Customization isn't just for the aesthetically pleasing factor, you also have over fifty unique skills for each character to learn, but you only get a limited amount of points to fine tune each one, so spend wisely! On the other hand, which one of you fans out there has been dying to see Miku rock out with nerdy glasses and striped stocking?!"
"Miku attacks using twin leek swords and can support the party with her singing voice. You can have up to four members in the party at once, such as Meiko, Luka, and the Kagamine twins. You can change your party at your home base and even upgrade your home base like in an old game called Suikoden. Players will also find they are able to bring together specialist individuals to create new technology and weapons for our rather unprepared adventurers to use."
"Intrepid players will also take their vocaloids to concerts to perform for money and fame, which will benefit you in the long run as you travel the world in search of evil bands to bankrupt. Make sure to practice and rehearse or you may end up looking worse than the evil bands do!"
"You will face off against evil bands from the west, like a band that uses a grenade held by a bloody hand as a logo, and other bands with tight leather clothes wearing, blonde haired members. They are polluting the air waves with bad music, and it's up to you to stop it. Step into this whacky world and experience a side of Miku that you never thought possible! Exclusive for the PS3, Look for "Hatsune Miku: Leeky Days™" at a store near you!"

Resident Evil 6 - What It Should Be
by Musambani on Comments
"Resident Evil 6 will take place two years after the defeat of Albert Wesker, and the BSAA has become a world renowned organization for taking care of bio-terrorism. Chris Redfield leaves the field to rest and recuperate after his struggles while Jill Valentine continues her work in East Europe. Recently, some rumors of an underground company have come up saying that the T-Virus has been improved upon."
"Jill investigates a nearby deserted town to find that everyone has been infected, Zombies that resemble the Crimson Heads from the mansion incident are the only things present. She must survive in this town and find the way out through a big, abandoned mansion. These merciless zombies claw and run after her, making her relive the days of the Raccoon City Forest assignment."
"The will to survive is strong, and she knows that she is much more prepared for incidents like this since that fateful day all those years ago. Every step she takes in this decrepit mansion makes her relive those days, and only strengthens her will to live. Unfortunately for her, she must battle all new enemies that have been produced from this new strain of virus, and she must hunt down the culprits by herself if she wants to see the next sunrise.."
"In order to battle her ferocious enemies, she must use special crafting tools left around the town and find materials and other sorts of items to make into weapons. If all else fails, she has her trusty knife and great skill in martial arts combat, especially with her kicks."
"Her radio is busted. There is only one way out, and she has no other route of escape. It's time to relive the survival horror of days gone by, step into this dark space, and get ready to feel what was lost once again."
Seriously, RE5 may be fun, but I hate the goddamn african setting and the las plagas crap. It's ridiculous and makes it action oriented. Resident Evil/Biohazard is meant to be a survival horror, and the first two were the greatest of the games. Dark narrow halls, limited ammo, and a few zombies and other horrific creatures, and best yet, bosses that you truly feared. No other game captured it so well, and RE was also the first game to have voice acting on the PSX.
Capcom plz make this game if you are doing RE6.
Mabinogi Heroes - The Hatred of the Foreign Publisher
by Musambani on Comments
I'm so filled with rage right now as I write this blog, the incomprehendable amount of unbelievable situations that I've gone through rises on a daily basis.
As the title says, I plan to make this blog about Mabinogi Heroes, a game that was released on December 16th, 2009 in South Korea by devCat and published by Nexon Korea.
Mabinogi *Fantasy Life is a cute and cuddly weeaboo's dream come true that is very popular in most countries, and it is also one of the biggest money sinks out there. I'm not going into detail about that, but I am going to say this: Mabinogi is an ironic RPG, the only "successful" people at it are the ones who spent the most of their parent's money on the game.
Enough of that dreck, let's get on to the big problem here.
At first, I didn't believe that Mabinogi Heroes was going to be released outside of South Korea so quickly, it had only been a few weeks since it's grand opening and then it was suddenly announced to be coming to North America. I stopped caring after a while in lieu of playing other games and was in fact more pre-occupied with Dungeon & Fighter and hoping that Phantasy Star Portable 2 came out here as well.
Then I finally looked on TVtropes for fun and linked a friend to the "Mabinogi*Fantasy Life" page and then I saw it. Then I looked on wikipedia, and sure enough, it's coming. I'm shocked that such a game would be brought over so fast, especially since Koreans are very stingy with their games (Continent of the 9th comes to mind). But see, why would that be so bad? The game is freaking amazing, it uses my most favorite engine, the Source Engine, for graphics, and the game has a VERY unique feel to it's gameplay, you should just watch videos to see what I'm talking about.
But you ask, WHAT is the problem here? I mean, it's not like it matters much to me, since I'm from South Korea and I have a Nexon Korean account and I could play the Korean version if I desired, but my friend is very interested in that title, along with many others I would venture a guess. Guess who is releasing it?
Nexon North America
I have not a clue which branch this bumbling group of fools originated from, but I think Nexon North America is spun from the Nexon Japanese branch, and we all know how much the Japanese hate Americans. It would make perfect sense. If you read my Dungeon Fighter Online review and checked out some of my blogs, you'll know where this stands. All of Nexon NA's releases and titles are a few patches behind the Japanese version after all. Hell, they could be Chinese for all we know, because the Taiwanese and Chinese versions of Nexon's titles (In China and Taiwan the publishers known as QQ and Gamania respectively) are behind the Japanese versions bit by bit as well.
Nexon Korea is the main headquarters, and let it be known, they have no idea what is going on over here. I'm sure that devCat and NeoPle would be pretty pissed if they found out how poorly these games are being released overseas, with bugs and glitches not being fixed since the open beta. In Mabinogi, there STILL, since the game was released, is a glitch that if you are talking to a friend in the game's in-game messenger system, if you type too much in one bar, it actually starts SLOWING THE GAME DOWN. Also, unlike all the other versions, if you talk to an NPC in mabinogi's American version, there is a very brief 2 second HITCH, LOCK UP of the game before their chat box appears.
I desperately need to consult a thesaurus to find more ways to bash on this company, as I always revert to saying they refuse to fix their glitches and technical faults, and they intentionally release games with the intention of scamming the money of the children's parents. Also, Dungeon Fighter Online has been out for, what, 7 months, and it's still being called Open Beta, and on Nexon NA's homepage, they still label Dungeon Fighter Online as being a NEW release. Wow.
The people playing any of Nexon NA's games are just kids who do not understand the true value of money, that's all there is to it. No matter how many times someone tells them what they're playing is absolute garbage, they'll put their hands over their ears and start making loud annoying sounds to block out the truth.
It's a shame. My friend was really interested in Mabinogi Heroes, but with their current track record, Nexon NA is just going to find some way to release Mabi Heroes in a shoddy way with a fully designed cash shop. That's all this is to them. Money. I have no idea what to say about it anymore. How anyone can support this company is just sickening, but I guess that's a sign of the times.
I simply don't understand what it is with certain foreign publishers, what do they have against Americans that it makes them just want to skim the money from them and not even try to release a game properly? Of course, I'm not saying ALL foreign publishers and developers do this, tri-Ace(Can't wait for Resonance of Fate!) and a few others have been good to us for a long time.
I don't believe that the Koreans would do that, though. As much as Magna Carta series was lackluster, they still released it here in it's original condition. So it furthers my belief that Nexon NA has no communication with Nexon Korea at all.
I wonder if there is any hope for some of these shining titles and MMOs that South Korea has developed to come to this nation in their untainted form?
Dungeon & Fighter - Japanese Edition
by Musambani on Comments
I thought I'd share an amusing little picture I found.
The game is "Dungeon & Fighter". It is an entertaining arcade beat em' up and shoot em' up. And magic too. And yes, those octopus are actual enemies in the game.
Makes sense, really.
Right click and then click "View Image".
Or someone can tell me how to properly do it on Gamespot. Either way, I don't care.
Uncharted 2 Among Thieves Multi-player - Completely And Totally Unplayable Now
by Musambani on Comments
I humored myself today by logging on Uncharted 2 again, few friends were playing so I jumped in with them. I was just appalled by what I was greeted with though.
Any strategy you had beforehand is completely useless now. Naughty Dog basically DESTROYED co-op in it's entirety now.
I'm never writing a review for this game. It doesn't need to be done. The single player is the only redeeming quality to this game now.
Why is it broken? Well let's start with how fast you die. Naughty Dog saw fit to make you die as fast as possible in co-op now. Couple this with the already unfairly balanced AI, and you're pretty screwed. I'd say you die as fast as if you were playing on a mix between Hard and Crushing difficulty, it's unacceptable. Not only that, the enemies move speeds have all been practically doubled, and they get across the map faster, and they walk faster than you can run. Really, these are some smart choices they've made huh?
Speaking of enemies, Head shots are nearly impossible to pull off now. Skilled controller wizzes such as myself are forced to use shotguns and other no-skill requirement weapons in order to achieve points. I haven't played for a week or so since I picked it up just an hour ago, but I know there's no way I suck that bad. I "always" achieve 10 headshots at Round 1, and I couldn't even get two, because they made the headshot hitbox a "LOT" smaller.
Why? And by strategies, I meant exactly what I said. For one, my strategy against the enemies that run up and choke you was to shoot them once while running towards them, then I'd kill them in practically 2 hits using a follow up melee attack. Now you can't do that. They're speed is MUCH faster now, and before you even get the shot off the will grab you. Remember, all they do is bum rush so now they're akin to someone using a speed hack. It ruins the fun of this game even more.
I mean, why make people die faster? What's the point? They're just trying to get people to go play the competitive mode, and come on man, that is never fun. How is playing against other people ever any fun? All you need to do is throw a grenade or grab the next one hit kill weapon to play. Or you can just camp against the wall and wait for someone to run into you. There really is no strategy involved, there is no tactics involved, only pre-pubescant third worlders ruining the game. Naughty Dog needs to stop giving in to these guys. It's similar to what happened with Persona 3 and 4, Atlus started giving into the losers who wanted a dating sim and not hardcore JRPG.
But I'm digressing. Fortunately, enemies on the higher rounds were not affected too much in this latest patch from ND, still, it doesn't mean they don't kill you in practically only a few shots. What's the point of cover, then? They'll just immediately overwhelm you and surround you quicker than they came into the map because you can't kill them fast enough anymore. Playing with just two people is impossible now, or maybe my partner just sucked, but head shots are few and far between now. And still, what is the damn point? We're not getting our worth for making a head shot!!
There is a fine line between making something challenging, and making it just completely unfair and not fun at all. The enemies have the ability to make miniscule shots through things you would never think possible to fire through, and their bullets only hit in ONE place: You. I moaned about it before, but I'll do it again because before it was somewhat stable, now it's just ridiculous.
This game has lost any enjoyment it had once given me. Not to mention they added in some new impossible to get trophies. I probably should have went and tried to get the Platinum before this, but there's no point now. They're all trophies for playing competitively, obviously.
Co-op in this game is to be avoided now, sadly. It was good while it laster, but ND has made it clear they don't care about it, and only want to support the one-sided area of the multi-player world.
By the way, it's obvious you're cheating if you kill someone with a weapon that doesn't one hit kill them.
