Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition - Rebuying a Game

Last year I purchased Resident Evil 5, like many, I was psyched for it. Sadly, it mostly did not live up to it's title, nor the series, and was just another run and gun shooter. It sparked many a dramatic post on internet forums when the torrents came up for the X360 version, ironically after they kept saying Piracy on the consoles was impossible. Sure, it was a very lack luster game story wise, but it held some kind of charm for me. It's really unexplainable, even to me. It only got fun when I was able to get into the mini-game that you unlock when you beat the game, The Mercenaries. I had some sort of odd obsession with wanting to earn the "SS" rank on all stages, with all of the characters available. Unfortunately, most of my peers were not as skilled as I was, and refused to use tactics and time-increasing melee attacks to defeat the enemies. That's when I found the Japanese players who somehow were able to connect overseas, and then my real fun started with the game. It all began when I was trying to earn the elusive SS on the hardest stage available, the "Prison" area. The foreign guy I was with was playing Wesker while I played Jill, and we dominated. He complemented my abilities nicely, and we stomped everything. Near the end, I playfully threw a hand grenade at him and he just stood there. One of the things I really loved about RE5's coop is watching other people get knocked down. Like when Wesker falls down, he makes that "AWGH!" sound, and I just find it amusing when they instantly go flying off the screen with a memorable motion blur, it appeals greatly to my sense of humor. But when he got back up, he used the "Thanks!" command, and I just laughed. It was doubly funny because when Wesker says "Thanks", he says, "It was in your best interest to assist me!". And then after that round I started hunting down all of the Foreign guys who were playing on Xbox Live on RE5 Mercenaries, which is how I accumulated a sadly worthless amount of "Exchange Points", over two million before my 360 RRoD'd, along with my SS ranks. I just found it absolutely hilarious after that. At the start of rounds my partner would immediately use the "Thanks!", and usually they always played Wesker. Every time we took down one of the stage's bosses with melee attacks or just shooting it, we said "Thanks!", and each time I laughed. The best times to do it is when we helped each other in making the 3-hit Combos, also known as "The Works". Usually I was always trying to do it since we both had SS ranks, and we usually always got nearly killed but we usually finished the match with an SS rank worthy amount of points anyway. There is just something so satisfying about the melee attacks in this game. Every time an enemy is hit by your partner in the 2nd hit, you can use one of two "power" attacks depending on if your standing in front of them or not. Chris' attacks are the super falcon punch(Haymaker) and the mega pimp slap(Backhand), and it was always funny when you saw him rearing back for that punch, usually taking out a bunch of the enemies nearby, the war cry was also amusing. Jill's attacks were the best though. I think Capcom went a bit overboard with it though. Especially with the "Flip Kick". But it's still a cool attack, and I always played Jill just to get that off. I actually found out about that Flip Kick on accident, too. I had been playing for a while and never even knew it, I thought her "Cartwheel Kick" was the only one she had, but nope. I am eager to see what power attacks Barry, Rebecca, Excella and Josh have in the upcoming "Gold Edition." Now on to actually talking about Gold Edition. Unfortunately, as said before, my Xbox 360 RRoD'd, and I refuse to fix it or get a new one. Sadly, that means all of my progress was lost, as well as my 100% achievements completed for the game. But with the Gold Edition, I now know that they were never planning to give the original game any new DLC aside from the Versus mode which was already on the disc. Honestly, it's kind of sad how I have to do it. Even if I still had my X360, I'd end up getting this game anyway just because of everything they're including it, that could have all been put in the original through DLC a long time ago. It will still be the same game, except for those two new modes, "Lost in Nightmares" and "Desperate Escape". Though I have high hopes for "Lost in Nightmares", it shapes up to be a real throwback to the RE1 era, and from the videos I've watched, it has a good amount of puzzles and an enemy that resembles Lisa Trevor. I don't think this should have been made in the first place. Look at the PC version of RE5, there are people who have modded Jill and Wesker into the normal game, and they have shown that there were actual unused voice files for Jill and Wesker, as if they were actually planning to put them into the game, and an amusing censored one where Wesker insults Chris vulgarly.
