More choice is a bad thing?
Sony cuts BC from PS3 and then repackages fan favorites and ups the resolution a bit and sells it to people. Most people that seems ot get excited for this stuff are players that already played the games on PS2. The SotC/ICO Collection was actually a good one since ICO is pretty hard to find nowadays.
I would rather the investments be put else into either new IPs, better sequels, new dev studios, etc than a quick nostalgia cash in
Well you can'y deny that they're popular, plus I doubt the money saved from remastering a few PS2 games would be enough to do all the things you put down. There's nothing wrong with people getting excited to play their favourite games again with remastered visuals.
