@iluvgaming1: Indeed. I purchased it tonight, and haven't been able to get it to start. (I click Play, and a blank window pops up for just a second, then disappears.) I've been trying to find someone else with this issue, and the best I can find when googling it is this article, which claims the store page no longer lists Oculus as compatible. I checked, and it still does list Oculus, but I'm worried that it really doesn't support it, and that I need to try to get a refund.

Any other Oculus users out there able to get it to work?

Yeah, I’ve been thinking of this movie a bunch since I saw it. What I think exemplifies its bad writing is the following spoiler: the mute character’s first words. There’s such dramatic potential in hearing the main character speak for the first time, but it’s completely undercooked, undercut, and underwhelming. What he says is so unnecessary and banal; it has nothing to do with who he is, or who he loves, and it’s not pivotal or important in any way. Nothing he says is, so why did they choose to give him a voice at the end? They had to bend over backwards to justify it in the first place, and for what? There’s no payoff.

And that’s the movie in a nutshell, I suppose. There’s a lot of setup, not a lot of it pays off, and when it does, it’s so flat, I wonder what the point of it was.

I started this post not wanting to say it was that bad, but yeah, it’s bad.

Oh yeah, what was that part about when he got those flashbacks to what Cactus did? Like, he got hit with a taser that knocked him out and gave him some memories that neither character in the scene could possibly have had. I really must have missed something. Or maybe it was just bad editing.

@Pierce_Sparrow: I gotta say, when I saw the Final Cut of the original Blade Runner for the first time over a decade ago, I said just about everything this review of Mute is saying:

“It's like [Blade Runner] underwent so many rewrites that the scenes and characters no longer match up--or like it's a first draft that never underwent a single edit.”

I loved the concepts and universe of Blade Runner, I just wanted to see someone make a good movie with them.

@vilified_signals: I'm not sure, but a fifth game where all four team up seems inevitable, if they can get there. I love the idea, and I'm glad they didn't decide to rush the equivalent Avengers game out as the third game after all. That would have been understandable, given that it's presumptuous to plan for a fifth game given the trouble the series has gone through, but the payoff will be worth it.

@casshan01: if I recall correctly, Fury is one of the four horsemen in the darksiders world: War, Death, Strife, and Fury, I believe.

I remember a flyer advertising the movie was included in the box for... oh, which one was it? Was it Chaos Theory? Or Double Agent? Either way, this movie's been in the oven for ages.

I'm not sure why the prevailing opinion in society is that movies based on games can never work, especially when movies based on comic books do; the characters and stories they're based on are simple and ridiculous in the extreme just like most video game stories, but the Marvel movies rock. There's nothing stopping a video game movie from being great, too.

Except the fact that everyone decides they're awful the moment they're announced, I suppose.

I was glad to see Warcraft do well in China, though. Apparently they don't have the same stigma against a movie's source material over there, and thanks to them, I get to hold out hope for a sequel. It may be in Chinese, but I'd understand.

Anyway, Splinter Cell is awesome, and is as fertile soil for a movie as the Bond novels were, I'd say, so no reason to write it off until it gets here.

I honestly thought that neither of these games had actually ever come out; was this a case of them being in a state of eternal early-access?

Will the PC version of the game support my Oculus Rift? I haven't been able to find that out yet.

I'd love to play it in VR, but I already made my choice of headset, so I won't be able to if it doesn't end up with Oculus support on PC.

If all these rumors are true, im not excited by the NX at all; it's quite boring.

I only ever play games at home (even handhelds) anyway, so the portability of it all is lost on me.

Cartridges are fine, but if using cartridges is going to make it cost more, that's really only making it a tougher sell.

From the way it sounds, it's a Wii U, but you can take the gamepad on the road. I know they'll have more to reveal and talk about later, but so far, that sounds like neither a brand-new concept that will change the way we play, nor something that will invite third-party support, so I don't really see the point.

I'd like for Nintendo to compete and produce a system that stands toe-to-toe with the others and, well, appeals to me again, I just don't see that happening if these rumors are true and that's all it is. It's boring.

The card up their sleeve had better be a good one if they want to rekindle my interest.
