How come new Ps2 games like God of War2 don't sell 100 million copies? I reckon most of them there Ps2 was replacements for broke onesor people going from that their big Ps2 to the the slim model.

I doubt that. PS2 owners are still playing their PS2. FFXII/GOW2 being the latest big titles.

Thing is, PS2 didn't get a boom in sales till 2 years after launch, when PS1 owners were ready to make the transfer. Unless every PS2 owner hated MGS/FF/GOW/GT/GTA/Tekken/KH etc then they're not going to be going to 360/Wii, yet.

Don't give me that. Everytime I walked into an EB/Gamestop around the lauch of the 360, there were plenty in stock. I kept trying to convince myself to buy one, but I just couldn't find a reason. :cry:

The launch 360s sold out in the USA, I guess you live in Japan.

although I'm not denying that they probably did have shortages elsewhere...

How did you get them free?

MS gave out Texas Hold Em for free if you downloaded it in the first couple days and you got to keep it. MS and other companies give away free avatars and themes. The first Gears map pack was free. The Southpark episode in HD was free - it was the episode where the fellas were a bunch of anime geeks.
