Highly unlikely. As stated in previous posts, with the release of Kinect last winter they'd only be shooting themselves in the foot by planning a new console. Besides, I prefer a games-loaded E3 rather than the typical ''Oh look, new console, shiny amirite?"
I'll have to be on the hacker's side on this one. Before I start explaining why I must assure all pimpled-faced 15 years old fanboys that I wish to take no part in petty fanboy bickering but rather observe the problem from a factual point of view. First, I am highly surprised to observe how many people see no problem with the possibility of being taken to court by Sony on the basis that your console usage goes against their own terms and services on a device that you paid and legally belongs to you. What Hotz did was to use his own talent to transform a product that he owned, gave it extra functionalities and shared with people how to do it. Sharing knowledge, nothing more nothing less. If Sony somehow believes that it's their right to abuse their users and prevent them from doing whatever the **** they please with their things, it's their choice. But personally, I can't live knowing they can abuse my fundamental rights and send a pretty 100K$ invoice if I go against how they think I should use my things. As for the PSN downtime, big deal I says. I mean how obsessive-compulsive do you need to be in order to treat a 6 days downtime on a free service like it's the end of the world. I understand PSN+ & MMORPG user's and developer's pain, but I'm pretty sure Sony knows how to redeem themselves. As for the damage and updated security on servers, it's needed. What's happening right now is proof enough. 'neways my 2 cents. EDIT: As for the (very minimal) information released by Sony, know that if they went around posting every details about the attack and how they planned to recover from it, they'd get ****ed as soon as they'd be back online.
It'll happen some day. They've remade most of the others, so why not this in years to come. I see a remake of FFVII as kind of like Square's ace in the hole for if things ever bottom out for them.Saruman1719
Exactly. There is way too much money to be made with a FFVII Remake for them to pass on it. Demand is through the roof and using today's FFXIII's graphic engine, the process would be very cost-effective. Couple that with a 60+$ price tag and you got yourself a pretty healthy cash flow. Wait a couple of years, you'll see it eventually. I assure you.
