Just one thing. Please quote when I said one of those things. And dont say that I implied it because all that I have implied is exacly what I said, "I think Crysis will be better"

musicalmac

The important part was when I asked if you even knew what you were arguing. You don't have to agree with me, but you weren't disagreeing with me for the right reasons. If you want to disagree with me, then you have to disagree with every question I posed to you.

Alright here we go:

You don't agree that nobody knows how Halo 3 and Crysis are going to turn out when they're finished? I've played what they have of both and I like Crysis much better.

You don't agree that we can't make concrete assumptions based on what it says on paper, and not in practice? Again, I have played both.

You don't agree that both games look like they'll excel at what the developers are going for, respectively? No, they both went exacly what the developers wanted, Crysis wanted a high end, next gen game. And Microsoft/Bungi wanted more money, so they put the same game together with a slightly differnt title.

You don't agree that judging quickly and camping out in your favorite fanboy corner is a bad thing to do? I don't judge quickly, at 1st I thought Halo 3 was going to be really good, until i played it. Sorry not a fanboy, I loved the first 2 Halos

You don't agree that none of us know what either of these games will score in their respective categories? When did a game sites score matter of what I thought about the game?

Yes, your exacly right. I havent understood that everyone has their own opinion and that niether you or I are going to change it and that when somone wants to give thier opinion that you say(like you keep doing) "you dont get it".

Just because we don't agree with you does not mean we dont get what your trying to say. It means that we DONT AGREE WITH YOU. Get it through you head, yes i hear what your saying, no i dont agree. Seriously...you just dont get it

YES! Crysis Rules!!

But seriously musicalmac you started off by asking what was better and now you just saying "if you dont think their the same then your wrong" HAHA! Your betraying your own words. If your gonna say something, stick to it.

musicalmac

I haven't contradicted myself, nor have I gone back on my words. I've said exactly what I wanted to, in exactly the manner I wanted to say it. You just haven't understood it yet.

[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="froidnite"][QUOTE="musicalmac"]I have posted this multiple times now, and it is the whole point I was hoping to reach through civil discussion. This is where we would have ultimately ended up.froidnite

How can you expect to end up with that ultimately if some people are of the opinion that a game is better than the other one?

I think you've still missed the boat. I sent you a boarding pass.

Forget it.....I got the feeling reading your posts that all of the people who don't think both games to be equally good are just fanboys comments. That's the reason I asked the first question.

And yeah......I think Crysis will be better.:P

Dont get what exacly? Did you not origanally ask for reasons why one game is better than the other? Those are reasons, what else did you want to know?

I have posted this multiple times now, and it is the whole point I was hoping to reach through civil discussion. This is where we would have ultimately ended up.

Good question, TC. They are very different games with very different focuses. Halo 3 is about giving the "epic" feeling through its story, presentation, and scale. Crysis is about pushing the player to the limits as to how they play a shooter. The game is impossible to beat on regular difficulties without proper use of the nano suit and the AI is brutal. Overall, it is a different experience to Halo. The reason so many hermits hate anything Halo is how user friedly it is and how it takes and uses ideas from other games.

Both games are good in their own way.

organic_machine

But people couldn't be civil and understanding. They could only be biased and cruel. Luckily, Organic hit the nail on the head right away.

Alright, so YOU think that the games are both good in their own way. Then why did you ask which is better? If you really didn't know and you have now seen that post and have come to the conclusion that they are both good. Then good for you, really. Then you now have your answer. Just because other people don't agree that they are both good does not mean that they have missed your point, we all have different opinions. And yes there are people yelling at each other with "my game is better" but you have ur answer of what you think so your done, who care about what other people are thinking. You asked which is better, I gave you my opinion.

My absense from the thread was directly tied to my lunch break. Nothing more. I said at the very beginning of this thread that this was in no way created to flame either game. I was hoping to encourage open discussion, which would have ultimately brought us to this point- [QUOTE="organic_machine"]

Unfortunately, I buried my hidden motives to far for most of you to see. This is the /thread post above. Nobody knows enough about either game to make a real judgement at this point. Organic said it right. Dreams punctuated it because none of the fanboys wanted to accept it. "Both games are good in their own way" System Wars isn't all made of bashers and "do-gooders", there are actually some honest people who enjoy civil debate. He who says, "What did you expect, this is System Wars" is part of the problem. It's not that difficult to relax, not everybody in SW is out to get you. FYI- For the individuals (and you knwo who you are) who think I'm a computerless, console fanboy, I will end up owning both of these games.

Did you even read the posts? Obviously not or you would of seen what was posted ealier.

HUGE expansive islands/levels.

You can pick up almost anything and use it as a weapon

Completely destructible environments. Not just buildings but the foliage aswell.

The most immersive graphics technology shown so far

Nanosuit abilities allowing you to pick up enemies and strangle, shoot them, chuck them over cliffs, punch them in the face or dangle them in the water and wait for a shark to get hungry. Jump from roof top to roof top, cloak yourself e.t.c.

Three vastly different environments. Go from tropical paradise to frozen tundra and then zero gravity alien spaceship.

Customisable weapons on the fly

Real time weather and day/night cycle

Huge cataclysmic events such as todal waves, nuclear explosions e.t.c.

Amazing multiplayer mode lasting hours with realtime day/night cycle ( lasting 5 crysis days). Imagine a game of battlefield 2 but lasting all day that you can hop in and out e.t.c.

Probably more things i have missed.

Whats halo 3 got that halo 2 doesnt?

4 player co-op

tightened up onlineplay.

the "king of gaming"??? If your refering to the amount of consoles sold then the "king of gaming" would belong to the PC. DUH!

Will they make Bioshock for the Wii? Ur joking right?

[QUOTE="Deihmos"]halo 3 will have a much better multiplayer experience that is for sure. Anyone remember Far Cry multiplayer on PC? It was abysmal.Velocitas8

Good thing Crysis isn't Far Cry ;)

I hated Far Cry's MP but Crysis' MP looks really fun.

Good thing Halo 3 isn't Halo 2.

Oh wait...

Please don't confuse this thread with a typical flaming thread for either game, I just have a very honest question, which I hope sparks good, honest discussion. I see on the forum a lot people saying, "Crysis will be better", regardless of what the original thread was about. It is assumed by many that Crysis is the ultimate shooter. As I said before, I'm not saying anything either way yet, I just want to hear what is going to make Crysis stand out (with exception to the graphical prowess) and clobber Halo 3. What is going to make Crysis superior to Halo 3?musicalmac

Crysis has an open world in which you can go anywhere you want to, Halo 3 has set paths that you have to walk down to get to the end of the level.

Crysis will have a lush environment which you can interact with, Halo 3 is still trying to understand the concept of what environment is.

Crysis will be a DX10 game, have you seen a game in DX10? OMG need I say more...
