Steam!

Through a US proxy to pay US price, to avoid the likely AU price ripoff!

Bah in correction of the above - on second thoughts i'd say the x4 slot is the one third from the top thus allowing 3x Dual Slotters @ 8x 8x 8x

Nah you've interpreted the notes incorrectly - if the third PCI-E slot is used it takes 8x from the first;

= Trifire @ 8x 8x 8x

(Though this is only possible with a single slot GPU in PCI-E's 2 and 3 (Watercooling/Crappy Cards lol?))

The last slot is x4 so Quadfire would be presumably 8x 8x 8x 4x (with atleast 3 single slots cards obviously)

Crossfire is 16x 16x

v1 is older - looks slightly uglier (EDIT: MUCH UGLIER LOL) (different backlights / shape / screen) and doesn't have USB2 ports.

I'd be surprised if anyone still sells v1?

Edit: just checked pricespy NZ and yeah the v2 is definately worth the premium over v1.

Otherwise really depends whether the G15 v2 Screen is worth 20$ to you (vs the x6 Sidewinder which is nice), useful for displaying temperatures if you overclock or CPU/GPU/RAM usage levels etc

Be mindful also that any voltages you haven't altered (presumably everything other than VCore / RAM Voltage) are set to 'normal' not auto

Just mentioning this as it's something I missed when I was beginning.

Congrats otherwise and enjoy :D

Cool if it's 3Hours+ Prime95 stable you should be good

Keep temps under 60oC Prime 95 Small FFTs and keep voltage under 1.5v and crack that 4.0Ghz barrier

Edit: Note also that Phenom II chips suck power like crazy with voltage increases so be mindful if you're already close to your PSUs limits (1.3v is stock voltage I believe for that chip)

Try Coretemp instead of Speedfan (more accurate and will keep track of your highest and current temps) Also that looks like you'd stopped Prime95 at the time of that shot (0.9% CPU Usage)? Also Vcore readings through that @ 0.00v / 1.57v what the? CPU-Z still reads 1.30v under Prime95 load?

The Phenom chips run on pretty high voltages, you can definitely push higher if you temps are safe

For instance my x4 965 @ 4.0ghz takes 1.475 which is perfectly safe (best to stay below 1.5) and stays below 50oC Prime95

lol - to bring the topic back onto track since i've spun it on a tangent what we need;

- Power Supply Unit Details (either model number or photo of spec sticker on side)

- Case Details (either model number or photo with side panel off or clearance measurements)

- Motherboard model wouldn't hurt either
