I thought the beta was good, not great. Most importantly, it doesn't differentiate itself from the myriad of other online shooters. Those enticed by the Star Wars universe will enjoy it more than I did but I just really want a badass shooter and after The Taken King expansion, Destiny is already a better package for the $$.
I'm still waiting for the 128 v 128 battles promised fifteen years ago though.
E3 is incredible for the sheer amount of content and, moreso in year's past, the pleathora of major announcements. The thing that troubles we, the gamers, about this new E3 is that we always got to be a part of it. Why shouldn't we? We are the reason this industry even exists after all. This new E3 does no small injustice in discluding the adoring general public who made the expo one of the most incredible events in the entertainment industry. I'm glad the press is getting more access to games but the real people who need to see what's on the horizon are the ones who will be forking out the cash for it, not magazines and review sights. So what if E3 has shorter lines and more time for interviews, the cornerstone has still been removed.
Bring the price out of outer space, fix the stupid controller and release stacks of great games. There, I just listed THREE things that would definantly fix it.
I agree with the editors: $60 per extra controller is a little steep. HOWEVER, it is still not steep enough to keep me from buying a "party pack" on launch day. You know that $600 I could spend on a PS3? All going to Wii hardware and software. Sorry SONY, better luck next time.
