Here is our currently setup.
One desktop in the home "library" which is hardwired to the internet, and where the router/cable modem and everything else is.
Then my two brothers have a laptop, and so do I.
2 laptops are using Vista Home Premium
1 desktop/1laptop are using XP
I'm pretty much the only one that knows anything about tech (and it isn't that much)...the rest just use it for school/email/internet/storing picture and stuff like that.
Anyways, none of them backup anything. And instead of buying 3 seperate external HDDs and teching them all how to plug it in, safely remove and all that...
I was thinking about getting a 1tb hdd (they are only like $150 now!). And somehow getting that to appear as a network drive or something, so they can each view it from "my computer" on their own personal machines.
That way I'll just get them to drag whatever new file they make there and won't have to worry about other things.
Is this possible, and how would I go about setting up the HDD to do that?
