i actually dont want a street fighter v or alpha 4 till mid of ps4/one gen. ultra street fighter iv is a 15 dollar expansion using stuff from x tekken which nobody likes street fighter iv is still the most played fighter and get the most entries at turnies so no need for a sequel that the people complaing for wont even play past the first month once they realize they suck just as much as they did at iv

i found a post that describes my feelings for this game. when you make a franchise game that comes with certain expectations. Like you can't make an RPG and call it Street Fighter, or a romantic comedy and call it Star Wars. If I gave you a greasy Italian dude wearing a beanie and a leather jacket and wielding a flamethrower and said "this is Mario" people wouldn't say "Oh, this is a bold and exciting new direction for the character" - no it'd be "Get the **** outta here with that nonsense" and that would be the polite replies.
DmC is a fine game on its own but it's not a DmC game. It takes the name to try and sell a few extra copies (because gamers don't buy new IP for whatever reason) and in the process betrays fans expectations of what "Devil May Cry" is. This has been the issue since day one, which goes far beyond just what color Dante's hair is. I might have bought this game if they'd called it anything but DMC.
I don't want to support this idea. I don't want devs to think that they can just radically reboot a series every decade or so and we'll buy it so long as the game itself doesn't suck. We'll be stuck playing sequels and reboots for the foreseeable future. DmC isn't a bold new idea, it's the death of creativity.
i cant believe that some people are getting upset that the older games have better gameplay and saying that dmc is good enough is it a western vs japan thing? is it impossible to believe that despit all your weeboo and emo insults that at the end of the day the old games have better gameplay which is whats most important in a video game. if you liked the dumbed down combat so much you should have teamed up with all the god of war type fans and bought the game but you didnt and the old fans sure as hell didnt so you have to deal.
ill say it again. pro dmc argument=your just mad cause he doesnt have white hair.
anti dmc argument=dumbed down combat, difficulty, and fps lowered to 30 just for the sake of looking pretty
the truth has been reaveled through sales the old fans are not the vocal minority the people that like the reboot are.
whats funny is the vocal minority turned out to be the majority the people that like the new dmc are either the god of war type fans who want mashy combat which is the group capcom was aiming this game at there just turned out to be not enough of them interested in this game or people who didnt care either way also not enough of them either. at this point i see this franchise going in 3 directions
1.dmc 2 which still wont sell
2. DMC 5 which prob wont happen becuase capcom would have to admit they were greedy or wrong and they would never admit that.
3. off to the capcom graveyard with megaman and breath of fire which funny enough was also killed by a reboot.
and i still dont get why people are being called whiny for not buying something they didnt want mabye they wanted 60fps combat that wasnt dumbed down and a story that wanst tryin to hard to be serious buisness. most of the people who like this game cant even defend it compared to the old ones without resorting to the classic your just mad cause he doesnt have white hair. every reviewer can tell me this game is just as good as the old one but its not ive played it. its a platformer with combat elements not a hack and slash with platforming elements. im the consumer and you want to please me not the other way around and mabye they shouldve thought about that before they let that moron in charge of ninja theory publicly insult the fans of the old franchise.
what i find so funny is people are always going if you dont like it then dont buy your just the vocal minority and then when nobody bought it everyone starts crying fanboy also heres a qoute that fits that explains this games situation with the fans. The Anti-DmC argument is something like : DmC has downgraded difficulty from the past games, it has less variety in weapons as the previous entries (especially DMC3), has less moves at one time that DMC4 has with some moves doing essentially the same thing, and overall shoddy mechanics (JC window and hitboxes, dodge stuffs, etc). Not to mention some questionable things in the story like Dante changing his entire goal to get laid, and the brothers randomly hating each other because of what seems to be an overstatement, though pretty crudely stated with the humans needing to be protected. Wasn't exactly wrong.
The Pro-DmC argument will then say: Why the **** are you complaining about the hair though? It's the same guy just a little different in ONE department. ****ing fanboy.
this is what i want out of an hack and slash i played the new dmc just to give it a chance and i came off with a meh it was a middle of the road game it wasnt very exciting like the old ones it felt slower honestly and virgil wasnt a baddass he was a pansy that didnt do anything and constantly needed to be saved and in the last 10 mins of the game does a wwf heel turn.
you know you can use the face buttons to cut in blade mode
its really good but i see people complaining its too hard cause they cant parry.
