To keep the titles on their platform, duh.  I swear, Sony finally gets aggressive about keeping titles on their system realizing development costs are rising and alot of developers are making multiplatform games, and somehow this gets spinned as a bad thing for them.

And if they're talking to SE about it, they're obviously willing to pay it. Of course PS3 sales are going to lack in Japan, they're aren't any games.  When Gundam came out PS3 nearly doubled.  It takes games, once they come, the sales will rise.  This stuff is not hard to figure out.

The Wii has also had alot of hype backing it up.  That, and less than half the price of the PS3.  I mean come on, this stuff is elementary.

Wow self-ownage approved.   You just pointed out that the PS3 is doing even worse than we had hoped.  Its gone crashing from around 165k first week 25-35k second week 17k 3rd week (Outsold by the Wii) to about 9k in the past week.....(In the UK)

Oh, dear god are you serious?!  This is why I don't come here.  There were only around 200,000 thousand consoles released there.  I hope you're good at math.

You're starting to make me think you're a bit biased.  What does the Wii's success have to do with anything?  Because one console doesn't sell as fast as another it's a failure, that illogical.  Especially considering that console is more than double it's price.

No one was talking about it compared to the other.  The PS3's success shouldn't be determined by the Wii's standards.  I could call the 360 a failure for not selling as fast as the PS2, but the fact is it's selling fine. The GC wasn't a failure, it had it's setbacks but it wasn't a failure.  I like to be rational, and i'm never quick to call names, but you're sounding kind of ignorant.  Oh wait, I forgot I was on System Wars.

No, him being 18 does not question the validity of the website. As a 19 year old I'm pretty insulted that older people look down on teenagers as people who are thick, you are just plain wrong.

Sure the timer questions it, but seriously, who here actually thought the website was keeping track of the exact number of consoles sold? I don't need to look at the code to see that its on a timer. 

You could even argue that the timer was only there for asthetics, and the numbers were updated via NPD and other sources each month. 

Of course the website isn't 100% accurate at tracking data, but that video can have holes picked in it just as well as the website can. 

Yes, him being 18 does question it, you're seriously being naive if you think that some random person could just get ahold of this data, to the point where it could be "monitored" and "updated" frequently, it's illogical.

It being on a timer is inaccurate in itself, seeing as console sales vary on a monthly basis.

I don't want this to turn into a console war thread, I get sick of fanboys, I never trusted this site though, and anyone who tries to use it as factual evidence of a systems sales should be slapped.
