After to reading someone of these replies from Americans i'm surprised you're all still alive as it's clearly such a lawless place, i'll my sarcasm there. You're failing to realise the bigger picture, it's a vicious cycle, you own a gun, the robber owns a gun it's basically all it boils down too. You're all so trigger happy it's not fitting for todays world.mikegtfc

Today's world? Really? Look around you, there's people out there who will hurt and kill for money. That's what's not 'fitting' for today's world.

Why would you go for a phone if there's an Intruder in your house? You call the police, intruder finds you, your dead. You grab the gun, intruder finds you, intruder is dead.

A thief isn't planning to kill who ever is inside, their plan is to get in and out quickly. If you go pointing a gun at them they might be more willing to use theirs IF they have one, but as I thankfully live in a country were guns are banned unless needed they probably won't have a gun.

Mate, I lived in a country where every thief is a murderer. They will kill you, and your family just to get your possessions.

Yeah Snipes pretty much explained it good right there. In some cases it's you, or the intruder. I will always pick the intruder, seeing as he shouldn't be there in the first place.
