That title would belong to Vagrant Story.

MrGrimFandango

Dude that is the best game ever made that didn't get the sequel it deserved.

Seeing I haven't played every RPG made the past seven years I will say that FFX is one of my favorites from the last generation.

The story is great.

Graphics awesome.

Voiceover while not perfect was certainly not in the same playbook as Resident Evil 1.

The combat system and leveling system was really fun.

The only slight I have against the game is I agree it was a bit too easy, and I believe they developers got lazy with the monsters. They often took one design and assigned it three different colors and thus had three mosters. Lazy, and yes I'm aware this is a bit of a staple, but the monsters were not varied enough.

And for those of you who bash this game but love FF9 are you freaking high or something? Don't get me started on you people.

I would imagine this applies to people when they are deciding to purchase a game system as a gift. This usually means the person doing the buying is not a gamer and as such hasn't a clue what they are doing.

Think about it, they walk into a store, see the big three sittingbefore them which is the latest generation of systems where they will then of course look at the price. From here I imagine it is a simple matter of brand recognition as Nintendo has been on the block longer than the other boys, so they then buy the cheapest system which is also familiar by brand recognition.

This doesn't apply though to experienced gamers purchasing their own systems. I believe it when I read that someone has a Wii because of the library and so on and so forth.

As for myself give me a PC/360. After 10+ years of Mario/Zelda/Samus I'm ready for something new.

This is clearly due to the Euro being worth more than the dollar thus making the pricing much more reasonable in European eyes.

Irregardless of how it handles on systems that are not maxed out I would expect a higher score provided the freezing issue mentioned on the 360 doesn't happen on the PC. I mean that is a difference which would warrant a higher score I would imagine. Then again you have the policy of weighing a game based on the system it has been run on, so Bioshock on the PC will be weighed against other games on the PC. Who knows what impact that will have.

As for your feeback on how it performs on PC's not maxed out, I'm glad to hear what you said becaus I'm running off of a 256mb 7900GS, P4 3ghz+ processor, 2mb ram.

This one guy I knowstood in line for 16 hours in the cold just to buy a ps3. He even had his wife and friend help stand in for him for a couple of hours. The guy payed $678 for it and bought NBA the show for it. He currently owns NBAthe show, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, NBA Live 07, Madden 07, Spiderman 3, and NCAA 08. He owns a ps2 with just about every Madden, Live, and GTA released for it and nothing else. :|

Sounds like a typical sports nut which many of my friends are.I'm the only gamer among (who happens to like sports) them andit takes all my will to notscream at them for only buying sportsgames.

That is what I just did. Bought a reasonably priced 7900GS for round $130, less than $100 for another gig of RAM and wala! a rig that should be good for about another two years that can play Bioshock and The Witcher.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't aware there was also a difference when it came to HDTV support. I got an LCD that supports 1080i which is the best I believe it supports, so that HDMI is going to be important.

Off I got to Microsoft's site. Thanks again peeps (now if I only didn't have to wait until December to make the purchase..QQ).

Hey all.

First time I've visited these boards because I figured what better place to go than to those who know and love the 360 the most.

I'm an advid PC gamer who is considering adding the 360 as my console of choice with the recent announced price drop. I figured this would be a natural transition since the 360 and PC share a simular although not exactly the same library. I figured with GTA IV comming out as well as some other games I should find titles I like. I'm not an advid shooter fan although I'm going to dive back into the genre with BioShock on the PC soon, so who knows if that will change.

In any event I simply wanted to ask which of the 360's would suite me best? I'm pretty certain I will get Live, so my only hang up is how much hard drive space to get. Please keep in mind I do consider myself a former hard core gamer who is no more or less casual due to the fun adult world. I simply keep gamming as my hobby. I don't plan on filling up my hard drive as a simple 80 gig on my PC is more than enough.

So should I go for the lowest amount of hard drive space, or it a must that I simply spend the extra money and get one with more storage?

Thanks in advance and I look foward to hopefully joining the community by years end.
