Currently running HITACHI Deskstar 400GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0. Can't say anything bad, it's been a great drive.

Just a note from experience, be sure to spend at least a little time carefully considering what features you might want from Vista.

With XP, I always regretted getting the Home version rather than the Professional. With multiple computers on the home network, remote desktop capability would have been nice. Of course, I hadn't yet used that feature and didn't know much about it at the time I bought the Home version.

With Vista, I went all out and got the Ultimate version :D

It seems like such a common question!

Here are some that should allow you to play through the single player mode in coop.

Serious Sam
Serious Sam The Second Encounter
Serious Sam 2
Will Rock
Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
System Shock 2
Rainbow Six Vegas
Quake 2
Half Life (sven coop mod)
Doom 3 (open coop mod)

Not sure if what you really want is "online" games that have coop modes available though (like Battlefield 2?), anyway, might want to check out this site http://www.thecoopyears.co.uk/2006.asp

Yeah, System Shock 2 is supposed to be one of the (if not the) greatest ever, I'm still looking forward to playing through it all as well :)

This site has some information about the updates/patches

Rainbow 6 Vegas ran so terrible on my machine (Athlon XP 3200+ Geforce 6600GT AGP), I couldn't stand it any longer and had to build a new machine (Core 2 Duo E6600 Geforce 8800GTS)

Yeah, the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 is a quality board. Not that it makes a huge difference, but it also unofficially supports DDR2-1066/PC2-8500 . Good board anyway.

You are right, the air vehicles are more balanced in 2142. However, with practice you can learn to overcome those imbalances, and it keeps things interesting. Practice, practice, practice.

I won't easily be convinced there is more "depth" to the vehicles than in BF2 though...

Dumbed down what exactly? I think there are many better game design features in 2142 over BF2. The gameplay is also quite a bit faster and for me the speed makes it much more challenging.

If you want to play modern warfare then go BF2, no other reason to choose the inferior BF2.nutcrackr

No offense, but would definitely not consider BF2 inferior to 2142, if anything I'd say BF2 is better!!

Yes, air vehicles were indeed "dumbed down" in 2142. They are relativaly awful (and novice) compared to BF2, where there is much more depth and room for skill development, which lends itself to very fun dogfights.

Also, it's very subjective, but I thought 2142 actually seemed slower than BF2.

Serious Sam 3!!!! Yeah baby, can't wait for that :D seriouszone discussion

Actually, I thought Serious Sam 2 was a bit of a let down compared to the original and TSE. It's difficult to pinpoint why exactly, just had a different feel. Hopefully 3 rocks!

What are your experience scores? Even though it's only at stock speed currently, along with everything else in the machine, I was still kind of surprised the processor (E6600) had the weakest score.

Processor: 5.2
Memory (RAM): 5.7
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 5.9
Primary hard disk: 5.4

Overall: 5.2 (lowest subscore)
