have one and a ps3 and a xbox360 and a pc the point is i would of rathered stored my games to a hardrive over the use of a blue ray to load big games. since theres no real reason to go blue ray yet. as far as movies go hd dvd and blue ray are even . it hasnt prooved yet to rise above. my alien ware pc makes my ps3 look like a ps2 compared to a ps3 so i dont see how the ps3 blue ray player made such a big impact on the systems success ... i am not complaining as much as discussing. i just feal there could of been a better way to offer the system so more people would want one and not so many passing the chance to get one because of the costs and the actual value.

thats what i am saying you could have a disc you load all the info onto a haerxdrive bam you have your game stored . i would of rathered them offer a hardrived version over a blue ray version. the blue ray player besides the gaming aspect is no use to me. and jackass i didnt say download anything for free. i said a marketplace and sony points or credit card purchases could be used to make money through that. i am just saying i would of rathered have a huge hardrive storing my games over the fact i can play a movie in high def whoopity doo. if i wanted a movie player i wouldnt do it through a gaming system

and you dont think there is already blue ray disc burners being created. and soon you will be seeing ps3 games on the internet piracy circuit come on all technology eventually gets cracked and gets misabused

because 500 gb of storage space is worth more to me then a blue ray player,. i didnt buy a ps3 for movies. if i want a blue ray player i would go get a blue ray -player as a stand alone when they proove its not gonna be a failed project like lazer discs. thats was the next gen in movie too anyone remember them. for those who want movies with there gaming machine thats cool . i was just thinking alternatives to it. i own one so theres no going back now.. but i would of prefferred to have one without blue ray and stored games through hardrive over a movie player

also i dont see  pc's  needing blue ray players to make quality games.  i havent seen anything on ps3 xbox360 or any other gaming system that has surpassed pc  games

yeha but you cut the price of the ps3 to 400 and your gonnaa gain aabout 2 million more purchases. at least. so yeah it could work. and also game developers could of easily added there games to a marketplace for download and with a detachable harddrive you could just download all your games to it .. just like a pc
