Uncharted sold the system to me, can't wait for it to come out.  The problem is that Sony are counting on their g*****n Blu-ray movies to sell their game system.  Well to that I can only say

Xbox 360: $400
Xbox 360 HD DVD player: $200
Finally being able to watch Army of Darkness in glorious HD: priceless

They already made a console.  It was called the Pippin.  Look it up, I'm not kidding.

Don't even get me started on the poor ol' Dreamcast.  But at least it gets some respect.

Oh yeah, plus it had The Horde before anyone else, which was awesome.  You could watch Kirk Cameron get killed, 'nuff said.

I've noticed that a lot of Sony haters have compared the PS3 to the 3DO on the basis of price and lack of games.  Any relation to the 3DO is generally seen as a bad thing here in SW and I think it's a little unfair... to the 3DO.

Yes, the Panasonic version of the 3DO was in fact $700 US dollars when it was released.  However, the unique nature of 3DO's licensing strategy allowed different companies to manufacture the system, and by 1994 you could easily snag up a preowned Goldstar 3DO for about $250.  Yes, it was a pricey system even then, but it offered cutting edge technology.  At the time, PCs weren't as mainstream as they are now and they were much much more expensive, especially one equipped for gaming.  And as far as games go, the 3DO had 'em.  Let's not forget that the PSone basically leeched off of it's library for about a year before Resident Evil came out.

Space Hulk: Vengance of the Blood Angels (best console version)
Syndicate (best console version)
Wing Commander III (AWESOME!)
Super Wing Commander (only console version)
Alone in the Dark (only console version)
Star Control II (only console version)
Wolfenstein 3D (best console version)
Dragon Lore (also awesome)
The Incredible Machine
Lost Eden

Plus it had some pretty cool exclusive games:

Blade Force
Captain Quazar
Crash n' Burn
The Daedalus Encounter (Tia Carrere was teh hottest back then!  Plus the game was decent for FMV)
Gex (series started here)
Jurassic Park Interactive (EGM 9 out of 10)
Need for Speed (Yes, the origional, before it was made anywhere else)
PO'ed
Road Rash (the best 32-bit version hands down, also the first)
Shockwave
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (at that time, the only place you could see Akuma)
Twisted (Y'know what a party game is?  You have this game to thank, or blame, for that)

So lay off the 3DO.  It was a decent system with plenty of good games that happened to be prohibitively priced for about a year.  On second thought, if my PS3 gives me as much entertainment as the 3DO did back in the day, I could live with that.

Anyone else reserved their copy of Metroid Prime 3 yet?  Well, I tried to put my usual $5 down at Gamestop and was told the minimun to reserve the game was actually $10.  This usually only happens if the game is a limited printing, or if it has something extra included with it.  Any speculation as to what this may be?  Perhaps a Zelda-esque collectors' disc featuring some of the older games?

Hopefully they've been focusing on getting some more games out there.  I'm still waiting on the status of Fire Emblem, Project HAMMER, Disaster: Day of Crisis etc.  Some news on them would be nice.  I'll worry about the channels after I get my games.

Uh... have you ever played Gears or Halo 3 on XBL?  There're a lot of adults on there that act like they're 14 years old.

"C'moooonnn guys veto this map!  It sux!  Ahhh, you guys are b*****s!"
"Stop picking up the sniper rifle, I'm working on an achievement!"
"OMG you got killed, you're a horrible teammate!  Now I'll kill you ensuring that we'll lose because I'm just that petty!"
"EVERYBODY RUSH!!!! Sure It got us all killed like 13 times but it'll work this time!  Hey, nobody rushed!  You guys are b*****s!"
"OMG you actually killed me!  You must be modding because I'm so awesome nobody could kill me!"
"Quit stealing my kills I'm leaving!"

Yeah, you have to listen to that crap all the time, and god forbid you should ever point out to them that it's JUST A GAME.  And as for Nintendo gameplay (whatever that means) not working online, there are a couple million people who own the DS that would disagree with you.  Mario Kart, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Starfox, I dunno they all seem to work pretty well to me.

"Buh.. buh.. Resistance was a launch game!"  Yeah, y'know what else was a launch game?  Perfect Dark Zero.  It looked and played leaps and bounds better than Resistance.  If you're going to hype the PS's, at least have sense enough to use Genji, VF5, or FNR3 as an example.  At least those games looked good.

The Halo 3 beta.  Yes, the game is lousy, but it's the people who play it that turn my stomach.
