Later this fall, Sony will introduce a online virtual world called "PS HOME". Any knowledgeable gamer would know this was a move to counter the XBL great online service. However, I see this idea to go farther than any other idea ever created in gaming history. Sony mention that HOME will give the consumer an open dialogue to developers and designers. Sony mentions a lot, but sometimes they don't deliver on everything they plan (it's not a promise fanboys). This is an opportunity for Sony to change gaming as we know it with HOME.
As Sony mention, developers of any company can create a virtual HOME that can have a theme that fits there needs. Example, EA Sports has a HOME that allows you to play mini-games of football, soccer, and basketball; Capcom having a virtual arcade room with their greatest arcade classics. There is a wealth of ideas each developer can come up with to attract other PS HOME users to their HOME. This will become a virtual community amongst gamers and developers. As you may know, developers love to chat in forums to get info from their gamers. This will be a great tool for them.
This is where HOME will really shine. Developers could hold virtual conferences, interviews, guest appearances, and other forms of interactions that gamers can attend in the virtual HOME. Example, Konami could hold a interview in their HOME with Hideo Kojima to show the new trailer of Metal Gear Solid 5; They could hold a special guest appearance with Ronaldinho on the next installment of Winning Eleven. Sony also said that they allowed to set limits on how many can attend, so maybe the first 200 people will be able to chat with Ronaldinho about soccer. This is creating a forum for gamers to developers that we never had before. Who need gaming sites and magazines for news, when you can go straight to the source?
Lastly, developers could hold contests gamers can win special prizes and gifts where no other console could offer. Even for the clans, guild, and party could use HOME for their strategy room to beat the dragon in a MMO, or tactics to become number one in SOCOM, while watching a movie on your virtual Bravia. Simple, if Sony can deliver on this idea (I think they will) Home will be the greatest idea ever to revolutionize gaming.

Great points, but I doubt most companies will even use Home for that. Especially with EA Sports. Now I don't know if you actually heard that they were making minigames for Home, but chances are, they're not. EA is in it for the money, they're not going to use money to create things for Home without getting anything in return.
Secondly, I don't think developers are going to hold conferences in Home. Why would you do that? They meet in person, it's much easier to conference when you are in person, have you ever been to one? Think about trying to do a serious conference about one of your games you're trying to realese holding a controller and talking in a Mic. I'm sorry, but I'm not staying for that one. Most likily they would have a conference in real life, go on stage, and talk about it in front of hundreds of developers and game reporters in the audience, while showing their new trailer.
I see your points, but they're very unlikely....
not impressed but still koolSilenthps

i know that i want to see what they got to say :P
most will just say(if any say anything) that FF is amazing and mario isnt, and the MGS doesn't have as many rehashes as mario, or once again is just amazing and Mario isnt
it definitely does look better than gears, only fanboys would say otherwiseKlash47
I own both systems...and I would have to say Gears still looks better, at least only from seeing the videos there. The animations are really crisp and smooth in Uncharted, no doubt about that, but from the videos I would say Gears, maybe because I've played that on an HDTV, I think I can give you a good answer right now until Uncharted comes out, but they definitely have the ability to make it look better than Gears.
