The Choice and Picross
by Odgiek18 on Comments
So I decided finally that keeping my DS Lite was the best choice I could make, and so far, it's doing a little better. The main reason I decided to keep it is because of Picross DS. I've always wanted to try out Picross, and the $20 DS game seemed good enough. Actually, it's a great game, the online mode is awesome, I love getting owned by great players, and I hope to someday be as good as them, especially this "Jacob" guy, he had almost 2000 wins!
A Hard Choice (Please Read)

So it's come to this point now: My DSLite has been slowly but surely malfunctioning. It started during a routine Pictochat when I noticed my top screen blink in and out. It would flash to a white screen momentarily and then the picture would come back in. It got to the point where I would have to be extremely still otherwise the screen would go out. And now even if I lock it all the way back and stay still, I'm having trouble seeing the picture. Albeit, the DS is otherwise fine if you can get the picture in. My brother strikes up a deal, trade me his SP for my Malfuntioning DSLite. I like SP's just fine though, they have very good games, and some that I would play way more than a DS game, but the DS does have it's stars, Metroid Prime Hunters, Phantom Hourglass, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. This is a hard decision for me, I don't want to buy more DS games and then a couple months down the road have it quit working entirely, and I would rather not shell out $130 more dollars for another, especially since I don't have a job.
What do you guys think? I know the logical thing would be too keep the DS, but even a slight problem in a game or system bothers me. I'm confused as to what I should do...

So last night I beat Alien Hominid. The last level was totally hard unfair fun cool, but I got through it (I had my friend drop in at the starting to dish out some extra damage.) Now I can go back and play on hard, or beat some of the mini-games, plus try to beat my highscore, it's only like 120,000. But for now, it's more Twilight Princess, I fell in love with it again. Speaking of Zelda, my friend brought Phantom Hourglass over and I tried it out. i hope to get it sometime next week or so, it's truly amazing! ^_^
Sonic in Smashbrothers

So the news came out today that as rumor held it, Sonic is a character in Super Smash Brothers Brawl! Not that it matters much to me, I'm not a big Sega or Sonic fan, at all really, but this means that Nintendo is still thinking about 3rd party characters. Will we see Megaman? Leon? Or the Alien from Alien Hominid? Who knows, we'll just wait and see!

So, my path to becoming the old gamer I once was is succeding, I'm getting to the point where gaming is the only thing I think about once more.. I still haven't got a job for some unearthly reason (10 Applications already!) but with Christmas coming up I should be able to get a bunch of new games. Speaking of Christmas, it's practically confirmed that were (Me and my two brothers) are getting a 360. It will stay in there room, but that fine with me, because I'll get their PS2 and Xbox. I bought Alien Hominid this weekend for onlt $12 and it's a great throwback too old 2-d shooters I remember (Contra, Gunstar, etc.) I have 2 levels left and it's getting pretty tough. I've been practicing Smash Brothers, because our school is having a huge Gaming Day/ Tournament on the 27th. I think I can win the Smash Bros. and Guitar Hero tourneys.. ^_^ I've been re-playing Twilight Princess and it is so much fun. I should get to the Lakebed Temple tonight.. Anyways, I'll post later, now I'm gonna go play some Zelda...
The Great Awakening

While reading the latest Game Informer not too long ago, I came to realize that I'm slowly, but surely, slipping into that gaming demographic that I have so-longly ridiculed... The "Casual Gamer". It hit me pretty hard too, I consider myself such a diehard Nintendo fan, yet I go days sometimes without turning my Wii on. Furthermore, I'm letting great titles such as Metroid Prime 3, and The Phantom Hourglass, slip through my grip. So I must reverse this by using my 3 step program.
1.Get a Job- With a job, I can purchase more games and accesories, keeping me more in tune with gaming and my system(s)
2.Get on Gamespot more- Yes, I've said this so much, but I really do love this place, it's went a little down since it's prime about a year ago, but it's still a fun place.
3.More Gametime- I've been limiting myself quite alot on Gametime, soetimes going for just a quick game of Battlefront II, or a couple minutes in Wii Sports, but to truly be HxC I must complet all of my games, 100%.
So there it is, I hope to keep you updated more with my gaming goings-on, and you should see me around more often as well.
Anyways, my brother bought God of War for his PS2, and it's pretty fun, I also borrowed GHE:RT80's to play some, with GH3 right around the corner I need to build up my skill (Yeah right I just 98%-ed an expert song, and 86%-ed one on Hyper mode) Some more wii Sports and a dose of Trauma Centershould keep my Wii running, and I have yet to beat SPM.
I also had some news today... I'm probably getting a 360 for Christmas, and this comes with mixed feelings. It would be mine and my two brothers, which always brings about them playing my games (My 6 year old brother has already went through 2 Halo 2's, he's not very polite with his discs.) I could always keep my games in my room, but say I bought Halo 3 and both of my bro's want to play it, it would be impractical too own two copies.. But I digress....
Underrated, Overcriticized...

I just got back from town a little while ago, and I got to stop and rent a game. I decided on Red Steel, even though I've heard all of the bad reviews, because it's something I've been wanting to experience. In short, I love it, I know it has it's glitchy parts but so far, I think it deserves a 7 or 8 rating at least. Just medicore tasks like pushing open doors makes me feel super awesome, while in other games it semms just like another button press. Reloading my gun, shoving a table over, and the like are fun every time I do them. In other news I've been playing more Wii Sports since I got my wiimotes back, mainly boxing, which I've re-taken a liking too. And Dairy Queen is supposed to call me Wednesday so I should have a job soon, which means more games!
