My CD-drive is dead and I need a new. I thought since I just got a full HD monitor I should get a blu-ray. But is blu-ray drives for BLU-RAY only or do they also run everything else, like games, installation CDs etc. etc. ? If yes, whats ur recommendations for a good drive? Personally I looked at this one: http://ca.lge.com/en/products/model/detail/supermultiblue_ggch20l.jhtml

[QUOTE="OhwowOhwowOh"]So the fact that it does change color, could it be another sign to that its dead? I did try ur method, but nothing has changed. Its still there, very much like from the start.

Though it bothers me that it is not Black on white background and not white on black background, cus that would have completely confirmed that it would be dead. This is simply confusing.

I just a lovely new 24" monitor, but there seems to be a pixel either dead or stuck. I found this quote:

A dead pixel is black - can be seen against white background A hot pixel is white - can be seen against a black background

Here are how mine goes: The pixel is Red on White Background The pixel is black ("not there") on Black Bacground I also read that: Black Pixel on Blue Background means its dead. Yellow Pixel on White Background means its dead. Blue Pixel on Black Background means its stuck. As mentioned above mine is Red on White BG, and Black on Black. On Blue BG its Black. So, I both got signs that its dead (Black on Blue BG & Black on Black BG), but also that its only stuck (Red on White BG, not Yellow on White BG) I tried JScreenfix and UD Pixel, also gently pushing it and giving it a "massage", its still there.
