@godfather830: Read the document. Electronic Arts is literally trying to trademark "Ghost". Not Ghost Games, "Ghost". They are attempting to trademark a common English word.
@BassMan:All value is perceived and determined by the desire someone has for it. The material of the card is irrelevant. The value comes from it potentially being a limited edition card that only a handful were made, or perhaps it has a mistake on it.
Most purchases made by humans is to inflate their ego and brag. The majority of things people purchase is stemming from ego. It's why everyone's house looks different. In regards to clothing all we need is something plain to cover us, colors and such are completely pointless function wise. Bassman, I'm curious what kind of car you drive. You can get a fairly plain car that has amazing reliability and gas mileage for cheap. Yet people spend thousands to get a better looking car, all stemming from ego and bragging rights.
Everyone puts value in different things. A lot of girls like diamonds. For some people, rare magic cards are valued more than diamonds. Just like people value signed sports equipment or celebrity autographs. These people have a passion that makes them happy and there is nothing sad about it. Drug addiction is sad, not being passionate about collecting something.
@lucivar1: How is this connected? Local EMT and governing body = Obama making a direct decision?
Dude get your head out of the clouds. You can't just push rhetoric into every topic. There is a time and a place for politics and this has nothing to do with politics.
@soulfulDAGGER: "The culprit will be caught. I'm sure he left some hairs and skin on that piece of wood. What's pathetic is, Target will do nothing and the criminal will probably get away"
Uhhh. Do you think Target has some kind of CSI lab of their own and that they are going to swab for DNA? This will get written as theft/shrinkage in accounting and life will move on. The labor cost/time it would take an employee to search through hours/days of camera film outweighs the price of the ps4. Most likely this was a return from a customer and the employee did not fully search the box properly to ensure the contents. As manager you learn from mistakes and fix it so they don't happen again.
You seem to have this fantasy that detectives have unlimited time to spend on stuff. There are countless retail theft reports being filed daily at any given police station. There are even more violent crimes, kidnappings, etc being filed daily. They don't have the time or money to waste on dna testing a fake ps4 from target. Police will document it, file the report, and move on. No one is busting down doors or testing for DNA. There just simply isn't enough time to waste on that. The only way they will actively pursue suspects is if someone has been repeatedly hitting stores in an area.
@demondogx: What country do you live in? I'm genuinely curious what country you live in that has you not spending a dollar (directly) for any type of deductable or copay?
@BassMan: I was going to correct you by saying "R&C Crack in time" but then I realized that came out before Resistance 3. R&C Into the Nexus was actually good but it was just too short. It was a giant tease basically.
@seven7swords: You are but one in near 7 billion people on this planet. You truly think that just because you have never heard of it that barely anyone else has? A couple million is a drop in the bucket compared to the total population, but because you have never heard of it it is unbelievable to you that 0.02% of the humans on earth have played the game?
The question is, what solution is there to this? Every game relies on random numbers. Some games hide it better than others. You focused on my real life example which was but part of my point. The very essence of this style of game involves randomness.
What do you suggest they do? How can they improve the system to make it feel like you weren't cheated by getting hit with a 1% chance? Should they make it so you either have a 0% chance to hit or 70+% chance to hit and nothing in between? Do you have any examples of similar "tactics" style games where you feel you don't get cheated by dice rolls?
