final fantasy 6: here it is

So you're saying that this, which happened a mere two years ago, doesn't matter? You tell me why Square Enix should remake the game on the DS, when they can wait a couple of years for an even more powerful handheld that can give better performance, graphics, sound quality, and inevitably gameplay. You tell me.

That does make sense ... but I want to play it NOW! I didn't like the translation in FFVI Advance. While IV and V's translations were improved on, VI's seemed watered-down.

i wish i could get into the old FFs, i can't get into anything before VII, everything just happens so quickly it doesn't have any impact on me, i just see it as little people dashing around saying silly things... its obviously just the way it was then. its just a shame i can't enjoy it because i'm FF obsessed and having nothing to fulfill that obsession with.

Each day that I don't get to play the inevitable Final Fantasy VI remake for the DS brings me closer, and closer to death.

Square-Enix! Hear my plea! Hurry up, and release it, because you're FRIGGIN' KILLING ME! I CAN'T wait any more! AT LEAST give me a deadline! Something! ANYTHING that I can see in the horizon!

I really think they ought to release the 'V' and 'VI' remakes in the same year. Final Fantasy V (DS), and then Final Fantasy VI (DS) later on.

I'd rather opt for a Final Fantasy VI remake done on the PS3, but we know that won't happen. God damn FFVII will only get the honors of that treatment.

Okay, so can any moderator reading this tell me what happened, and what I can do about this? I forgot how to view my moderation history.

You see, I was banned recently, and then pardoned, but I promised the administration they wouldn't have any trouble with me again. I'm usually pretty cool here, anyway. I guess they decided to keep me away from the game forums, though.

Is this open for discussion, or is it final? I just want to know.

There's a moderator here, isn't there? I was once told by a moderator that if I have any questions for moderators, I should come to these boards.

Yes, that GameFAQs "karma" you speak of is something of a mystery to me. What does GameFAQs have to do with Gamespot, and how does one affect the other? More baffling is how I could even have a bad reputation there. What did I do, give one of those Final Fantasy walkthroughs the evil eye?

So, shall I discuss games here, then? Street Fighter IV is great! I'm just kidding ...

I'm having trouble accessing game forums for some reason. I can go to any other forum, like this one (thankfully), but I can't get to a game's forum. Whenever I hit the "Discuss This Game" link on a given game page, it reads "Error. You do not have access to this page," or something to that effect.

VI is be best in the series imo but i would prefer to see it on the wii if they were going to remake it.Mitazaki
WHY the Wii if you wanted to see it on a TV screen??????? If that's what you want, take it to the Xbox 360 or PS3.

Now that I think about it, I'd much rather it get a console treatment if it's to be remade. It would give that damned Final Fantasy VII (that I'm starting to hate) a run for it's money when people see the better characters and story in next-gen graphics and sound. Man ... that final battle would be heart-stopping to see it on the Xbox 360/PS3. It would have been great if it was remade on the PS1, even!

I would suggest you buy FFVI for the GBA, even if they remake it for the DS. Why? Because the original is perfect the way it is. A full 3D remake would definitly change the mood and setting for the game, thus not giving you the original feel of one of the greatest RPGs ever made. VI for the GBA may not be the original game, but it's damn close. Play FFVI on the GBA first, or even better FFIII on the SNES of you can, then decide for yourself if you wan't to play the FFVI remake (if there is even one)

Plus a FFVI remake would probably only be made in a couple of years (assuming they remake FFV first) and probably another half a year to translate the game from Japanese. So this gives you LOTS of time to play the original. ;)

Chezzanator

Ner. If you haven't played Final Fantasy VI, I say buy Final Fantasy Anthology for the PS1. THAT is the best option. Why would you try to hunt down the ultra-rare "Final Fantasy III" for the SNES EVEN IF you actually HAD a SNES when you can get it much cheaper and easier with that. Plus, I'm willing to bet that if you never played FFVI, you are more likely to have a PS1, or PS2, rather than a SNES.

Another reason: if you enjoy the benefit of having a 30" HDTV (or bigger), a PS2 with an optical cable, and a surround sound system, you'll be even happier. The final battle in that game is one of the best you'll ever find in a JRPG, and it needs to be turned up LOUD. "Dancing Mad" rules.

If they do i'll be the first one at my local Gamestopto buy it. Final Fantasy VI still is the greatest Final Fantasy.pigilikepoe
I definitely agree with you that it's the best Final Fantasy. I don't, however, agree that you would be the first one to buy it -- I would. Unless you could get past me. I propose a samurai sword duel.

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a straight arcade port of the original Mortal Kombat? What are the more recent ports, if any? I can't get any good results on GameSpot's search engine, and I swear I remember looking at some thing in a GameStop store, once, that was a mini arcade dashboard complete with a joystick and buttons that you could hook up to your TV and play the original Mortal Kombat; but if there's something better than that, please tell me.
