@R4gn4r0k: I mean, to be fair, it's a yearly subscription of $20, which is, in my opinion, a fair price to pay for a free Switch and a very well received game that just came out.

@saltymemesoup: Fair score, and no worries. We all like what we like, and some things don't land for us, but in the end, we're all just gamers lookin' to have fun out there. Besides, we get yelled at enough by 13 year-olds online, no need to be yellin' at each other, lol. Game on, mate!

@saltymemesoup: Not trying to be snarky, but genuine question, what score do you think the game deserves? Graphics are often a fair criticism, but as far as MMO's go, this game is pretty top end, because if the graphics are any higher, you risk alienating players who don't have the high end gaming rigs to play, which makes a perpetual online community tougher to keep alive. If it were a PS4 exclusive, you could likely push them to the highest end that the console can go, but after being out for years, you can only push so far to keep the PC base able to play the game that they signed up for several years ago.

I mean, you could argue that a company might want to push the graphics forward anyway to maintain a vision, but when you already have a thriving community accustomed to a set of required specs to play the game, that's a pretty jerk move, and above all, a terrible business decision.

Bah, this is tough. I really want to play and enjoy this game, but hot damn if it is so difficult to find time lately. Been working more than full time almost 7 days a week, I can reliable pull 3-5 hours of "living-room in front of the TV" game time a week, and I know this game would take a very long time at that pace. The balance is in asking myself do I put those short bursts into the Spider-Mans, God of Wars and such, or dive into this game and treat it like a great TV show, only smaller, quality bits here and there over several seasons.

Gotta mull it over...but in any case, I'm excited for all of you though, go nuts and have fun!

I actually think it's pretty funny. I mean, the point of the game dev challenge was out of the box concepts for classic franchises, I think they nailed it. It's obviously meant to be tongue in cheek. That being said, I'd love a fully realized, mature, revisit to the world of Turok, if done right.

My wife and I have been playing Heavy Rain on some downtime and are almost done, considering picking up Detroit. Great timing!

@Kyrylo: I think unfortunately, any sequel to GoW3 was going to undermine the permanence of how it was handled, given that's how a sequel works, but at the same time, with the last shot of GoW3, we saw that he wasn't dead afterall. Until the new one was announced, I always thought (I'm sure he'll be back, somehow) and I felt this was a great next step to pick up where he left off, but again, it may have landed well with me, but not everybody, so your concern is still a fair one. And hey, who knows, maybe they took some criticism when developing the next one into account. I think once we see a trailer, we'll all know how we'll stand as far as whether or not it's still for us. I'm excited for it, but understand if someone might not be.

@Kyrylo: I think that's a fair concern. Part of Kratos' appeal is how his anger and violence is a stark comparison to the typical "hero". For better or worse, I think you can only carry that so far, though, before needing some kind of growth, if you're trying to have any kind of believable or relatable story, or you get popcorn nonsense like Doom (which is a blast, but I'm just citing that as an example). I'd say he has a new negative trait, in fear, rather than anger. Fear of losing what's left of his wife, and as he grows closer to his son, fear of losing his son. Fear of losing to these other dangers and gods as well, and fear of giving into the chaos that consumed him. It's a different negative trait, and makes for a different tone, but Kratos is still very much a flawed character. That being said, sometimes those tonal shifts can lose a portion of the audience that was attracted to the series to begin with, which is a bummer, but I'm just not entirely sure they could have carried his anger any further. As for trust in the director, for my taste, he hasn't done anything to lose my trust, since I really enjoyed the new GoW, but with your concern, I can see how you are skeptical.

@Kyrylo: Or, lemme break it down a different way. In the end of GoW 3, Kratos literally frees the power of HOPE from Pandora's box, forgiving himself and letting go of his chaos to use the power of HOPE to rid the world of Zeus and the gods, even going so far as to try to sacrifice himself so that HOPE could be given to mankind. How is the writing of the new game not in line with that?
