[QUOTE="OnLive"][QUOTE="scoobiesnackarf"] The difference is you don't pay Valve to play your games via Steam. Steam itself is free. You also download your game on to your PC where as with this you cannot. You also can always log on to any PC around the world with your account where as with this you will need the onlive box to play your games. Uhh, no thanks. Valve goes out of business they will release a patch to play your Steam games. onlive goes out of business and guess what, no patch is available SINCE YOU NEVER WERE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD YOUR GAMES. It's a rip.navyguy21
first of all wait for prices and packages to be announced, and second is assuming this company goes out of business,,,, what if my 360 red rings in some years into the 8th gen and MS wasnt going to fix it all my games would be SCRAP

ive been watching your posts for a while now on this thread, and im beginning to think that you work for OnLive as a stealth poster like the ones sony hires to go on forums and hype or promote the PS3 and its games :P You are overly-enthusiastic about the thing lol

conspiracy!!! lol...no... just no...:P

the bad thing with onlive is, you won't be able to get the chance to use mods or add ons to any of these games, which makes a game even more fun to play.

OMG, you just pointed out something im sure no nobody else thought about. What about mods?? Who wants to play fallout 3 without MODS?? What's PC gaming without mods?? That alone is enough to make me change my mind :(

im sure they can somehow incorporate that into the system, remember the publishers have full control of their games.

im wondering..how are the games gonna look like ? graphically speaking. i know that its NOT a high def piece of hardware, but just wondering

It is HD...if you have a fast enough internet.

Theoreticlly though, one of the benifits of this technology, is that there are virtually no hardware restrictions at all as long as somebody pays for the neccesary servers. So really, there is no actuall limit.

Amazing ! :o !

:P took you long enough...

And that is a horse of a different color. The renting price will be interesting however for those wanting to purchase the game, I hope they know what they are getting into.scoobiesnackarf

I dunno. I still don't think it's that big of a deal. Maybe because i've been living on my own for awhile now and once you start paying your own bills, that type of business model slaps you in the face every day. I got a nice computer, a big TV, all the latest toys and gadgets, and guess what? None of them work if I fail to pay my electricity bill. lol

I guess i'm just used to it

I am a husband and father, work 40 hours a week and am going back for my Ph.D. I also own all the consoles and a nice TV. However, this is a joke in terms of ownership of games. It isn't about not being able to afford it but rather the realization that you are truly only renting a game even if you have paid full price for it.

well then soon to be Dr. scoobiesnackarf ill assume you make or will make 100k+ per year so live a little, and full price on this system might be $20 for a game, thats like two, 2 week rentals from blockbuster in canada.

[QUOTE="OnLive"][QUOTE="jakarai"] You could always sell those games though can't do that with this service...

but if the 360s have all bricked at the time and MS dsnt make them i cant sell them... honestly Onlive will cost less than ohter game consoles. and again wait for them to talk about how you buy the games and stuff. maybe you have an option to download the game to your computer incase you dont want to subscribe anymore....

But if you DL it to you computer how are you going to be able to run Crysis on your crappy low end PC? I thought that was the whole pupose of OnLive.

then dont unsubscribe, and if they did go out of business the fact is you have your product you purchased, so sell it maybe... but agian people dont see that this is going to change everything around here, so what if Onlive somehow fails, this is the direction gaming is heading to whether you like it or not. a world of no piracy and of only digtial distrabution. the publishers and game makers will support no piracy any day

LOL Wow. People still buy NES and games for it. The 360 will be around for years as well as the games in a second hand market. Onlive? LOL no market ever. Why? Because WE NEVER ARE GIVEN ACCESS TO THE FILES. Seriously bro, either you are a pretty sad excuse for an employee who cannot defend his product or you have no idea what you are trying to defend. No matter how you try and spin it, this company is only good for one thing and even that is iffy. Rental.

LOL with the 360s hardware if MS stopped making them today by the year 2012 360 would not exist. and number 2 wait for them to announce pricing and bundles, liek i said b4r maybe you can download the titles to your PC if you choose to unsubscribe. and finally im not an employee on Onlive...lol

The difference[QUOTE="OnLive"][QUOTE="jakarai"] So you think developers are going to let us get the games cheaper on an unproven service? They don't do it for steam why would they do it for this?scoobiesnackarf

again its PC gaming so games cost less and Steam has done digital distrabution for a long time at lower than retail prices. also OnLive = no piracy, and gives the ability to rent games.

[QUOTE="OnLive"][QUOTE="Couth_"]I know my ISP (cox) is 20+ but ask around the forums the average of people on here is like 1 :?scoobiesnackarf
they must not have highspeed...

LOL @ the name. Anyhow, you pay for a game and pay to play the game. Year later, you don't want to pay to play so you can no longer play your game... No thanks...

so i dont want to pay for XBL, but i cant play a game online in a year if i dont pay, also xbox 360 will end and so will servers for those games. but Onlive keeps growing and upgrading, its actually close to futureproof. Seriously not only will the fee be really low, but use logic for a minute.
