@Prats1993: Er... Not really a rehash at all. Similar ideas, but that usually happens inside franchises. Persona 4 is all about how great justice is, fighting the darkness inside yourself, and to search for the truth that is shrouded by ignorance. Persona 5 is about how "justice" can beat on the innocent, people being treated unfairly by generalizations and taken advantage of by those in power, and rebelling against the system that allows that to happen.
@Xristophoros: Disagree 100%. I put hundreds of hours into all three of those games. Beat P3/FES a combined four times, P4/P4G a combined six times, and went through P5 three times (so far). And I gotta say, Persona 5 was easily the best of the bunch to me. I was surprised too, since I loved Persona 4 Golden so much. I had high hopes for P5, but it took my high expectations and completely shattered them. While the characters were awesome in P4, I felt a much larger affinity and a much better connection with the cast in Persona 5. The stories they went through were very real and hit home quite a few times. It was a fantastic take on society as a whole, which I find refreshing.
While it can get a bit draggy at parts, I was blown away so much by the style, gameplay, and characterization that I just didn't care. It also helps that the Protagonist isn't as much a drab piece of emotionless wood like the other games. He clearly has a personality and a style that actually makes him stand out from the rest of the silent protagonists in the series.
To me P5 isn't just what I consider the best game of the year. It is hands down my favorite game period. I have no complaints what so ever.
How was Persona 5 not nominated for Best Narrative? Too Japanese for the voters? Lame as all hell. Should have at least got a nod with how well they set up the characters and story.
@zuik: Change.org petitions are worthless and never accomplish anything. Might as well get one together with toilet paper and pass it around a back-ally for all the good it will do. Companies don't give a crap about things like this. Just complaining about it constantly online and at Capcom directly will change their minds more than a change.org petition.
@metallinatus: This is accurate. The only thing you can blame Team Ninja for is some of the gameplay choices maybe. Like the dumb missile crap. However, all the significant damage was done by Sakamoto himself. Team Ninja is just an easy scapegoat for people.
@00LiteYear: Cool. One crazy guy that must have spent forever playing the game to ever accomplish something like that. How about this one. In most MvC2 tournies, how many Rolls win? The game lacks balance beyond any sort of belief. It is even worse than Brawl in that regard.
@casshan01: The problem with MvC2 is that is is poorly balanced with only like five characters even worth a damn and with like a whole third of the cast being 100% unplayable. The game was pretty terrible overall.
