Out-Of-Ammo Blog

Happy Gamespot Birthday!

Today is my Gamespot Birthday! I joined on October 1st, 2008, and it is now October 1st, 2009!

So to celebrate, I am going to do an "Ask Me Anything" Blog. Ask me any question, and I will answer that question on my next blog.

The reason I haven't been on in the last couple of days is because my friend showed me this site called www.aq.com.

It's an Online MMO that has me and my friends addicted.

Also, I decided to do a top ten fighting games list. I will post number ten on the next blog, right after I answer everyone's questions.

Sorry this blog is so short, I don't have the time to do a long blog right now.

Well, thats all for now. Bye!

Scribblenauts!

I got Scribblenauts last night!

955689_127691_front.jpg

So far it is a pretty good game. The controls suck horribly, but other than that (and this stupid glitch I found on the level where you have to get the girl's cat off of her house), it is a great game. The graphics look like they were drawn with a crayon, but they still stay gritty and good-looking at the same time by staying colorful and, uh, filled in. This game is good, and I hope to be done with the 5th world by tomorrow.

Current Score: 8.5/10

Also, since only one person said on my last blog, I will say this again. I want to do a top ten. It will either be my top ten favorite RPG's, First-Person Shooters, or Fighting games. Please tell me which you would like me to do.

See you all later,

Out-Of-Ammo

Updates....

Haven't made a blog in a while, plus, I'm bored. So time for some gaming updates.

imgres.jpg

I finally beat The World Ends With You, I'll review it soon. After beating it, I think I like it more than Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. The story was great, and the ending was one of the best (and surprising, AND confusing) i've ever seen in a RPG. I got all of the Secret Reports JUST to answer a lot of my questions (and I still have some questions left unanswered).

Score: 9.8/10

I finally got the money for my new PSP. It's the Dissidia: Final Fantasy bundle, which comes with the silver PSP 3000, a 2 GB memory stick, a charger, Dissidia: Final Fantasy (duh!), and a movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

imgres.jpg

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is an okay game. I've only beaten it with 2 or 3 characters, though. So, i'll beat it with all of the characters before I review it. I also like how it manages to blend Fighting and RPG almost flawlessly.

Current Score: 7.5/10

I've recently bought 4 new games.

Nights: Journey of Dreams

imgres.jpg

I was a big fan of the Nights game on the Genesis. I was one of the 8% of people who voted for Nights instead of The Prince in the All Time Greatest Game Hero contest. I like this game. The graphics are great. The worlds are beautiful and detailed, and the music gives great melodies mixed with helping build tension and happiness, depending on the situation. The controls, well, suck, but you get used to them eventually (at least if you use the analog stick instead of the motion controls). The main weak point of the game is the sections where you play as Will (or Helen), they are a bit frustrating and have easily-solved puzzles, and it is also extremely easy to get lost or not know what to do, but thankfully, there are barely any levels where you play as them, so it's nothing to worry about.

Current Score: 8.5/10

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

imgres.jpg

I loved Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube, and even though the controls soften the difficulty QUITE a bit, it's still one of the best games ever! The graphics, story, scariness, gameplay, and sound are all perfect, and the controls are better with the Wii! Will review when I finish it.

Current Score: 10/10

Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja & Izuna 2: Unemployed Ninja Returns

imgres.jpgimgres.jpg

I bought them both for under $20. I haven't played the second one yet, so I'll just talk about the first one. Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja is a dungeon crawler action-RPG. In it, you play as Izuna, a 16-year-old ninja who has just moved to a quaint little village with her sister, grandmaster, and friend. When she goes looking around for her grandmaster, she finds a Jewel outside of a Dojo/Church. She likes it and she decides to take it, after which she hears a voice and all of the villagers start acting weird. She finds out that the jewel was from the gods who protect the village. They get get angered when she takes the jewel, and punishes the villagers by twisting their personalities. So she goes through dungeons to get the gods forgiveness and return the villagers to normal. The game is frustratingly hard, but still really fun. The graphics are ok, and the music is great. If you don't mind difficulty, then I recommend these games. I will review both when I beat them.

Current Score: 9/10

Also, I've been wanting to do a top ten, but I don't know what to do it on. I was thinking either Fighting games, RPG's, or First-Person Shooters. So tell me which one you think I should do a top ten for.

Well, thats all for now, see ya!

New Saxophone! + Gaming News.

I ordered a new saxophone off the internet (since my old one broke) and it finally came, took long enough! It's a medium level sax with an F Sharp key and a black and bronze paint job (the keys are bronze and the sax itself is black). No pics yet, but i will upload some soon.

Also, I bought Chrono Trigger for the DS.

When it first came out, I wanted it but couldn't push myself to pay $50 for a handheld video game, but when I went to GameStop, I noticed that it costed only $20 new, so I obviously got it. So far, I'm impressed. I love the the story, and the gameplay is great and unique, I can't even figure out if it should be classified as Turn-Based or Action RPG. I'm at the Fiend Lord right now, and I can't seem to beat him. Current Score: 9.5/10

In other gaming news, I started DMC4 up finally.

I haven't gotten that far yet, though. I just beat the second boss (the frog thing that uses the sexy ice demons as bait). I'll review it when I beat it. Current Score: 9.0/10

Well, I have to go soon, our school's first football game is tonight, and I play in the band. See ya!

School's back.

Since School started 3 days ago, because of it, I won't be on for as long everyday, so I may not be commenting or blogging as often as often as normal. Just a Reminder.

I'm Back!!!!!

I'm Finally back from NC, and it was a very good summer. I got a couple of games during the summer as well.

InFamous (PS3)

boxshot.php.jpg

I got this game the day before I went to NC, JUST enough time to get it started. I beat it as both good and evil and have done all the side missions and found MOST of the dead drops and a little over half of the blast shards.

Current Score: 10/10

Saints Row 2 (PS3)

boxshot.php.jpg

I found the first Saint's Row extremely fun and was glad they released the second one on PS3. The game is basically about as fun as the first, with enough new stores, cars, side missions, and characters to keep you occupied for a while. I also found the Ultor Corp. story after you defeat the first 3 gangs very compelling, interesting, and, well, stupid and pleasing. The glitches do get on my nerves a bit though, with the fact that they are way to commonly seen.

Current Score: 9/10

Metroid Prime: Hunters (DS)

boxshot.php.jpg

I could never find a copy anywhere here in Corinth, but in the GameStop in NC I managed to find a used copy for about $20. The controls took some getting used to, but once I nailed them, I found the game very interesting, challenging, and enjoyable. I'm stuck on the 3rd boss right now, so I don't now much about the game's story, but so far it's pretty good.

Current Score: 8/10

Shin Magami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS)

boxshot.php.jpg

After seeing it's review in Game Informer, I was hooked on buying the game. I loved it! The mix of Strategy and Turn-Based RPG is Perfect. The challenging yet fun gameplay never gets dull and the story pushes you to keep playing to see what happens next. Also, Haru is probably the best character I've seen in any game released so far this year.

Current Score: 11/10

The World Ends With You (DS)

boxshot.php.jpg

I heard A LOT of good things about this game since it came out, but could never push myself to buy it because of it's $50 price tag. Thankfully, though, I found an $18 copy in a GameStop in NC. I see why everybody loves it so much. It's story and great characters interest me more and more as the story progresses and it's gameplay is very innovative and fast (It has cost me to scratch the **** outta' my DS screen, though.). It's difficulty can be a bit overwhelming though, as I still have a little trouble managing both characters on different screens. I'm on the second-to-last boss (or at least I think, I'm on the Game Master of the 2nd week of the game) and am having trouble beating him. Other than the difficulty, the game is near perfect.

Current Score: 9/10

I also purchased DMC4

boxshot.php.jpg

but since I bought it so close to when I was supposed to go back to MS, I decided to wait until I got back to play it.

Also, I got 2 new Hamsters and a Cactus plant.

I named the hamsters Eragon and Eldest (after the books I love so much) and I named the cactus Spike (I know). Sorry, no pictures.

That is pretty much all I did all summer, play games and watch anime. Bye. (Also, could you tell me if the game cover images upload or not, last time they didn't, but I think that may be because they were too big, but still...).

1 more week + Pokemon

I should be leaving for my mom's in North Carolina next Saturday, and since she has no computer, I won't be on till August. When I come back, I will make a blog about my trip when I come back so you all will know when I come back (DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME!!!)

Also I've been playing Pokemon Sapphire and Crystal a lot lately. On Sapphire, I'm at victory road (haven't gotten through yet), and on Crystal I'm at the Elite Four.

On Crystal, My Party is:

Noctowl-Lvl 38

Stantler-Lvl 40

Gyarados-Lvl 40

Weepinbell-Lvl 40

Jolteon-Lvl 40

Typhlosion-Lvl 41

I want to get my Noctowl to Lvl 40 before I challenge the Elite Four. I haven't Evolved my Weepinbell yet because the only way to get a leaf stone is for one of the trainers that can find stuff for you to find one for you and no one has has found one for me yet. I originally wanted an Umbreon instead of a Jolteon but by the time I got my Eevee to Lvl 40, it still wouldn't evolve so I got tired of waiting for it to evolve and evolved it with a thunderstone that a trainer found for me. My Gyarados also isn't a normal blue one but the special red one that you can catch at the lake of rage.

On Sapphire, My Party is:

Breloom-Lvl 38

Hariyama-Lvl 37

Gardevoir-Lvl 38

Altaria-Lvl 36

Whiscash-Lvl 35

Blaziken-Lvl 37

As you can tell, my favorite type is Fight type. Hariyama and Gardevoir are my 2 favorite pokemon ever, so I'm happy about having them both. I want to make them all Lvl 42 before I leave Victory Road and challenge the Elite Four.

Well, this is probably going to be my last blog before I leave for the summer, so I hope everybody has a great summer and I will be back in August.

Microsoft's E3 Press Conference.

I was VERY impressed with Microsoft's Press Conference this year. It was MUCH more entertaining and organized than last year's. I saw a lot of things there that look very interesting.

- First, The 2 new halos look very fun. In Halo: ODST, I like the fact that you will be able to go back in time and go through the lives of other Shock Troopers and that you will be able to get the pistol from Halo: CE (you know, the one with the SCOPE?!). They didn't give much information about Halo Reach, but I do know that it will be aprologueto the entire Halo series.

- Alan Wake is a game that has the over the shoulder look like RE's 4 & 5, Gears of War's 1 & 2, and Dead Space. It's cool how your main weapon in the game is light. It also has a pretty good story, Alan goes with his wife on vacation and his wife goes missing and the book that he is writing starts to happen right before his very eyes.

- Tony Hawk's Ride game will use a motion-sensitiveboard that is able to pick up exactly where on the board your feet are and that you can do tricks on it EXACTLY like in real-life.

- They decided to release the fact that they are making a Crackdown 2. All they did though is show a trailer for it, so I don't know anything about it really. The trailer was GREAT, though, and I loved the first Crackdown, so I can't wait until the 2nd Crackdown comes out.

- They are making a new Metal Gear game for the Xbox 360 called Metal Gear Solid Rising. It will not star Solid Snake, but so far, thats ALL we really know about it.

- Modern Warfare 2 gameplay was shown at the press conference, and it looks GREAT. The best part was probably when your character had to escape on that snowmobile and could still shoot while he was driving. From what I saw, I am DEFIANTLY going to get it.

Nintendo's and Sony's press conferences are tomorrow, and I will write a blog about them afterwords as well.

Microsoft was great this year, and maybe 2009 could be a better year for Xbox 360 than 2008.

Summers here!!! + Games.

The Summers finally Here!!!! (Well, for me anyways) and that means that I'll be going to my mom's for the summer. She doesn't have a computer, so I won't be on for most of the summer. I should be leaving for North Carolina in about 2 or 3 weeks, so I'll be on until then.

Besides that, I'm broke, so I haven't bought a new game in a while. My dads giving me $100 before I leave, so I'm going to buy some games with that money in NC.

The first game I want to buy is In Famous:

942025_93069_front.jpg

It looks really cool. I think it's cool that you can choose between being good and evil and that the areas that you are in can be affected by whether you do good or bad things in that certain area. Plus, Gamespot gave it a 9.0, so I think I'll like it.

Second game I want is Mana Khemia: Student Alliance:

945586_109182_front.jpg

I've heard good things about this RPG series, and now that it's on something I own, I've been wanting it since January. Looks fun and also has great graphics. I think it's gonna be the reason to blow the dust off my PSP. (besides Darkstalkers Chronicle, The Chaos Tower and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.)

The 3rd (andprobablyfinal) game I'm probably going to get is:

924467_58677_front.jpg

Pokemon Green. This game was released with red and blue, but only in Japan. My mom doesn't own a computer, and I can't use eBay, (don't ask, I don't trust them anymore) but my friend (archmage1995 on Gamespot) will get it for me if I give him the money.

Well, this is probably going to be my last blog until the end of the summer, so have a nice summer. (P.S., I may be able to use free Wi-Fi at Taco Bell, Hardees ect. to get on with my DSi or PSP, but probably not.) Remember, IN 3 WEEKS!!!

Good Fighting Games.

O.K., I've been playing Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower for my PSP, Street Fighter 4 for my PS3, and Super Smash Bros.: Brawl for my Wii a lot recently. I'm starting to want to buy a new Fighting game, but I don't know what I should buy. Can anyone recommend me a good Fighting game? Thanks.
