Two words: Ball Cancer

But then again CA is considering legalizing it and slapping a $50 tax on it.

Mythbuster4ever

Dude that article is misleading as hell. It isnt even a study, its a poll with a few hundred adults. Big deal, it doesnt cause cancer, it helps cancer patients and real studys show THC to actually prevent cancer. So everyone posting misleading "studies" and propraganda information.. piss off

SMOKE WEED!

[QUOTE="nicknees93"][QUOTE="majoras_wrath"]Ok, fine, what about smoking opium? Almost just as bad as heroin. Just because something grows on the ground doesn't mean it is good for you, have you ever tried smoking poison ivy? That argument that "pot is a plant therefore=good" is illogical and baseless.majoras_wrath

here's the basis for why it is a safe plant. 1. you cannot overdose 2. you cannot become addicted 3. you become more peaceful, meaning you will not become violent like some cocaine and alcohol users do 4. you cannot do something sexually you may regret as ectasy and alcohol users sometimes do any person knows not to smoke poison ivy, as you stated in your example, because they know what poison ivy does. and yes, smoking opium, or using the poppies from an opium plant to make heroin is very dangerous. but again, knowing the effects of what your putting into your system can help make a decision on whether to put it in there or not. i choose not to eat mcdonalds because it is unhealthy. and, in fact, more people die from eating mcdonalds, than die from smoking marijuana.

First off

1. Who cares if you can't overdose? It doesn't make it good for you. It merely leads to memory lose and general apathy.
2. Yes you can be addicted. Not all addictions are physical mind you. Psychological addiction is very real
3. You become more peaceful yes, but how is this necessarily a good thing? Sometimes you need to be alert, such as driving.
4. False again, I've heard of plenty of high kids engaging in one-night stands. Some of my friends have even done so, without alchohol

Maybe you should know what marijuana does before you smoke it, as per you said about poison ivy. Not that that matters though, as you'll probably dismiss it as "goverment propaganda man".

Okay, I registered just so I can show this illogical fool up. First off the entire drug war is a total waste of time and money. History has already shown us in the 1920's that Prohibition is not a legitimate course of action. The United States government spends 17 billion dollars per year fighting drugs (Roughly the same cost we spend on the Food Stamp program which feeds poor Americans as well as our entire General Science, Space and Technology budget) It is widely proven that Medical Marijuana has the most health benifits out of any other drug. I find it very funny how so many people buy into a lot of false facts about the plant. Like it causing cancer and killing brain cells. (All false studies) The most beneficial thing out of legalization would be for one boosting our economy and using hemp. Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers, and it can be used for many different reasons (food clothing etc.) which will in the long run save trees. FIRST OFF, Majoras_wrath has really no idea about Cannabis, He says who cares if you cannot overdose, but that is the main reason of death in drugs. Memory loss is only apparant in individuals who consume Cannibis heavily and are overall unmotivated. You CANNOT become addicted to Marijuana. Yes it is possible to have urges (like with videogames) But not withdrawals or hangovers. There are many functional smokers, 97 million Americans admit to having tried it.It is very funny how majoras_wrath gives a link to a government sponsered anti-drug site that proposes false claims about the plant. Really, before you post on this thread you should actually know your facts before posting. I STRONGLY recommend watching this documentary about the plant, it will change your views and false informations drastically. http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=The+union&hl=en&emb=0&aq=-1&oq=The+unio#

Watch it people, have a good one

I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now, but I have never really understood much about the equipment inside of electric guitars and amps. I currently play an Epiphone Les Paul 100 on a small starter amp that I got when I first started playing. I like to play metal / metalcore and this setup doesn't quite achieve the crunch sound I'm looking for. What kinds of guitars or amps would you recommend within a reasonable price range? CuddlesTheBunny

Hey, i've been playing for about 5 years now. Right now im using an Epiphone Gibson Les Paul, with a Vox 30 watt amp. It really deliver that metal sound. You could also purchase distortion pedals for a distinct sound. I recommend the brands: Ibanez, Gibson and Shector.  For amps, i really like Vox amps, but marshall are good too. Keep playin!
