It's actually a really sad quote. Rather then arguing that his employer should not have the right to drug test him (they shouldn't), he instead chooses to cry that someone elses rights are being protected.
I'm going to have to disagree with that one only because I get a warm and fuzzy knowing that my daughter's school bus driver is regularly tested so she doesn't end up driving off of a ditch while high.
As opposed to driving off a cliff because they are sleep deprived, intoxicated, chronically depressed, or a myriad of other reasons?
[QUOTE="trick_man01"]I think everybody who is on welfare should be tested. I had to get tested for my job so I could pay for their welfare.DevilMightCryBest quote ever.

[QUOTE="Oscar-Wilde"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] I'm not saying everyone's going to go from poverty to multi-billionare. I'm just saying, if you grow up in a s*** home, and you're able to make the connection between working, and having money. You'd think people would learn that if they actually got a job, their life might improve. Maybe if they work hard in school, they'll be able to move away. Instead we see people simply going "ehh whatever" and continuing to leech off of society.Nibroc420
Yes yes, I hear people LOVE to depend on others for their livelihood and being seen as less because of it!
I mean do you honestly think people don't try?
The growing number of people on welfare suggests that they dont. Yeah, that has nothing to do with with massive layoffs and next to no nonskilled labor jobs being available. If you are on welfare it's just because you aren't trying hard enough. Please tell me why there are so many poor people in somalia, despite them not having any real type of welfare?
[QUOTE="OwldolphHootler"]You'd think people would try to improve themselves. Instead they continue to leech of those who worked hard. You honestly think it's as easy as just wanting to improve yourself? Please, enlighten us all by listing every 'rags to riches' person from the past 20 years you can think of off the top of your head. Kudos if you know more then 10.No, growing up in poverty makes it extremely difficult to succeed in life. Not impossible, but odds are against you. All throughout history, no matter what civilization you choose poverty statistically breeds more poverty rather then not.

We will have to agree to disagree. Dictionary.com is the source for said definitions, not Wikipedia. One has to work for income, one doesn't work for assistance unless state rules dictate (such as GA where you work for the county's DFACS office or have to prove weekly that you are actively searching for work).

Feel free to disagree, its not even my point. My question is, what do you think will happen as a result of the people who have their welfare cut? You must realise that such a policy will create people who have not means of income? What will be the knock on effect of these people without money, addicted to drugs and very low employability? Do you conceede that crime will rise? And if so, is a higher crime rate better than people claiming welfare whilst taking drugs? Thats the real question here and none have addressed it.
Then send those who commit crimes to jail. They will get fed and have to work (unless there are no work programs at prison now) while they are there, not to mention kick a drug habit, the hard way.
Yes let's just send more people into our already overcrowded jails instead of fixing the root problem.[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"]Yeah.....have you not actually read obamas stance on many economic issues? He's pretty conservative in the scheme of things.Ok, let's see... bailouts, stimulus, stupid programs like cash for clunkers, increased federal spending to astronomical amounts, wants to raise taxes, universal healthcare, threatened default before he'd even consider making real spending cuts, increase regulation on businesses, "spread the wealth"... remember that? Yeah, he sounds just like a fiscal conservative... Ok so you answered my question, you have not actually read into his economic views as of late.[QUOTE="BMD004"]WHAT??
