The same thing happened to me with a dual shock controller i had for 3 months it just died. iI turned off the console with the controller then went to pick it up the next day and nothing happened no lights came on the controller even when i hooked it up to usb.

Icalled sony as i wasnt too happy, they said that i needed a receipt to prove that it was under the manufacturers warranty. I explained to them that the dual shock 3 hadnt even been available for a year as i picked it up at launch however they wouldnt accept it. So I then told them that Iwas going to go buy another one then stick the broken one back in the new box and take it back to the store with reciept to get a refund or another "free" controller the person on the phone told me not to as it wasnt legal i laughed at them and said that they didnt leave me much option. Not my proudest moment though i admit but i didnt have much choice

its pretty hard to get that trophey even when you get people on your friends list to play bfbc2 with chances are when they join a game with you they end up in your team so you cant knife them. i think im right in thinking that private games dont count so you cant get the trophey by playing your friends that way either.

mine died yesterday i feel your pain. as it is a custom 250 gb hdd cant you just stick in the original hard drive that came with the console before you send it to be repaired? that way you get to keep all your data intact and all you have to do is stick in the 250 gb when you get your console back

I called sony the guy on customer services gave me these options, i can get a refurbished original 60 gb from them for £131 with a 3 month warranty, a refurbished slim or or i can buy a myself a new system. Think ill find a cheaper alternative to getting it fixed. Got my disc out after i left the system alone for awhile and turned it back on it gave me a good 5 mins before crashing again i got the disc out during that time thankfully. I couldnt get my dvd out the first time i sent my system away and it took almost a year for them to send it back! atleast i got it back though ive heard of people just losing theres

The vents are pretty clean i tend to keep my system tidy (and everything else in my room, bit of a cleanfreak). Im hearing more and more about the system overheating so i think thats what it must be however im willing to give anything a shot. I have my old original 60gb hdd i could put that back in before i restore it atleast that way i wont completely lose all my saved data im willing to try just about anything before i resort to sending it away to be fixed

Ive left it for almost 40 mins now, was only playing for about 20-25 mins before it cut out. I dont see how it could overheat in such a short space of time, the systems been in the same place since a couple of months after uk launch and ive had some lengthy gaming sessions over the years without any issues. The overheating was suggested on another forum so i guess thats what it is, maybe my ps3 is just coming to the end of its lifespan :(

Was in the middle of playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 when my PS3 cut out, the power light was flashing red. I touched the power button and the system beeped once before returning to a steady red light. Now when I turn it on it stays on for about 5 seconds then it cuts out again and the red flashing light returns. I dont get any amber/yellow light at anytime just goes stright from green to red flashing then red when i touch it.

I know I should call sony and I plan on doing that but I get the feeling the are gonna want a sum of money £100+ perhaps? and so I thought id check with you guys first to see if the problem is familiar to anyone and what the actual problem and more importantly the solution is without calling sony straight away

Can someone do me a favour and try watching any of their games, ive tried to watch a couple of mine (over 10 attempts) and each time ive tried all i get is the two teams come up the music plays then a black screen. The music keeps playing, if i wait long enough it eventually stops, but the screen remains black and the system is frozen, i cant quit the game or turn the system off via the controller.

Ive watched a couple of games before and this has never happened, just want to know if the problems on my end or if others are experiencing this
