I'll use pics to emphasize my point



This is from GR1. The graphics aren't great by todays standards, but this is the farmhouse I was talking about. This is only 1/50th of the entire level. All around are crops, fields, froests, creeks, barns, and farm houses. A perfect setup for different types of fights all on one level



From this graw mp screen I can see only possible routes to go from this spot. The whole open factor has been removed, and all this causes is close range  firefights or sniping campers. Not nearly as entretaining as GR1.

If they made wide open fields for levels now, the developers would be called lazy and no one would play there game, alos all it would take is one good sniper to take out the other team. Roboradioslave
Well I feel it's even more lazy to make levels with small set paths and impassable giant boulder's. Any limitation to where you can go is pure lazy. Open fields can still include a ton of detail, they don't need to be barren The gameplay has changed to run and gun spawn camping. Limitless levels are much more next gen then levels full of barriers.

GR1 was an incredible online multiplayer game. Huge wide open maps with no giant wall barriers in them. I remember loving the farm level the most since it was huge open field at night, some forests, and a couple of farm houses. It was real intense trying to capture covered areas for your team to gain the advantage. But then GR2 came out and they change it around a bit making the levels less open and less focused on team tactics. Now the GRAW series is rediculous, they have the open levels but they place random huge boulders in the maps and the whole "open area" factor has been removed entirely. It seems all you do now is go down one narrow set path to another. What happened to what the original Ghost Recon was all about?

unreal i'm not gonna call you a fanboy cause I know you have all the consoles. But to call the 360 crap is just stupid. These are generation one games for the system. A good portion are very unoptimized ports. But it's the time developers put into the games that give the games good quality. Look at COD2, its runs at a very solid 60fps with no slowdown in HD. Then there is Quake which uses the same Doom 3 engine the xbox could handle. Every game system has a rough launch. Also you need to remember not everyone has this problem. I for one dont have it.



I'm not gonna reply after this one becuase the mods might think I'm trolling. However, CoD2 on 360 doesn't look as good as it does on PC, plus it DOES have slowdown.
And Quake 4 is a mess on 360, both in detail and framerate. These aren't the only games that don't handle very well on the console.
Not trying to go against MS or Xbox or any of that kinda crap, I'm just saying the system has problems and it doesn't look good for it's future.
With that said, I'll still have my 360 when it's out.



Have you compared both the PC and 360 version of COD2. Cause all the reviews for COD2 say it runs better on the 360, and the developer interviews claim that it was originally started on the 360. And how doesn't it look as good. The demo version didn't have AA if thats what you mean. My final version does.
