Yeah, they should be Wi-Fi compatible. Just check the instruction books.

A lot of people probably saw 3D before, 3D isn't exactly that new, it's actually very old. Back in the early 1900's people had actually made movies that had a lot of scenes with objects flying towards the camera. This was because they were already anticipating that 3D technology was coming out, sure, they didn't exactly have it back then, but they knew it was a matter of time. I watched a few 3 Stooges episodes that were made for 3D a long time ago but just recently had the blue and red 3D edges added. It's off topic, but i'm just saying. ;)

It's a whole new handheld. And, I can't really tell, but it seems as though they've added a joystick to it that's similar to the ones on the PSP.

Well, they have been working on the 3DS for 6 years now, I think it's time. Soon the 3DS will lead to new and better technology, even if the 3DS itself isn't a new system generation.
